  hello, message board.. i've been a-lurkin here for a while.

  i introduced myself to the old hourglass board right before it went down - didn't have much of a chance to say anything.. but i would like to express how much i appreciate all the contributions you all make to the discussions that go on here.

  if you only knew how much your words and stories have been helping me to resolve my issues..... i guess that my hope is that i can, in some small way, relate my experiences and thoughts, and maybe that will also help someone else along the way.. once again, thank you for being here (& there).

  Oh man. I've been looking thru my telescope to see if there were a bunch
  of meteors heading this way too.
  Oh well maybe next time.

  Speaking of Bruce Willis, I've always thought that Jehovah would use meteors to selectively destroy the unrighteous while not harming the righteous.

  I am very glad that some birthdates were posted. I am VERY interested to see when all of the current GB members were born due to the 1935 sealing of the annointed.

  Any one have a updated list of the GB with their birthdates?

  One of my personal predictions is that the 1935 sealing date is headed for the wood chipper shortly (if it hasn't already).

  i was gone for a whole week at a terrorism awareness class, i got to do some shooting, some driving, crashed through barracades with a car.

  some times the inconstancies and contradictions in the watchtower literature seems almost unbelievable.

  the double standard of the watchtower writers seems to be without limit.. one of the explanations for this is that some watchtower articles deals with how jehovah's witnesses want to be perceived and how they want to be treated by society in general, and the contradictory articles deals with how the faithful and loyal witnesses should regard their enemies and outsiders.

  in psalm 139 this is spoken of as a complete hatred.

  JW Boyfriend is being brainwashed !

  my boyfriend and i live together and have been for about 3 years.. he wants me to convert, after research i will not.

  (i was raised bapstist) he hasnt went to the hall in two weeks, last nite he went because a "elder" called him, why did they have him in a meeting till.

  11 at nite, he came home and told me he confessed and he is in trouble.

  Oh honey! I feel very bad for you. You are in for a bumpy ride. I hope that he has the strength to see them for manipulative, brainwashing, controling cult that they are, but the odds are against it.

  Dating one of Jehovah's Witnesses is never easy and I hate to say it, but you should consider ending the relationship. If you are strong enough to hang in there, I hope it works out for the best, but I have little hope and you are just going to go through a very prolonged heart breaking experience.

  I am an ex-JW and it still hinders my relationships with people.

  Standing for flag/anthem prohibition; new light...

  in recent years we have seen wtbts "new light" that has eliminated the prohibitions on alternative service, voting, and (perhaps) carrying certain types of identity cards.. given that the practices of standing for the national flag or standing during the playing of the national anthem have been condemned in print in the same paragraphs as the above mentioned new light, isn't it about time that standing for the flag/anthem will become a conscience matter?.

  i would hope so, because not standing for these occasions is more than a little embarrassing for younger people still in school.

  standing is merely a sign of respect and honor, and this is clearly allowed by scripture.

  Most Hypocritical Act Witnessed As A JW

  what was the most hypocritical act you personally witnessed during your incarceration as a jw?.

  hypocritical acts you witnessed being performed by those claiming to be of the anointed are most especially welcome to be posted.. the person who posts the most hypocritical act will receive the complete box set of the bethel family sing the kingdom melodies vols 1 - 10 complete as first prize.. the runner up will receive two box sets.. i'll start off.. the most hypocritical thing i ever witnessed was the (married) co who ran off with the (single) special pioneer immediately after giving a talk at the district convention on "jehovahs gift of marriage".. sister special had the suitcases packed and the motor running out in the parking lot (located directly behind the platform) as co spiritual giant wrapped up his talk.

  he finishes the talk then leaves the platform for the getaway car to a tumultuos round of applause from the massive crowd.. both last sighted somewhere slightly up ahead of a fading into the distance cloud of dust.. goo

  That's the one thing that I never could understand. They gave talks on not leading double lives all the time.

  Yet, everyone does. In fact, it seems like a prerequisite for a Witness to lead a double life. It's almost like we are trained to lead double lives.
