  I know first hand from a District Overseer that they are NOT grounds for Disfellowshipping. This, of course, came as a COMPLETE shock and surprise to the other rank and file Witnesses that were involved in the...uh...discussion...

  I was also going to post up that Awake! article but someone else did. While that article is about as clear as normal, it does open the crack of the door for interpretation just like being allowed to vote a few years back.

  This is a fight near and dear to me and I have fought the good fight on this one many times. Birthdays are A-OK! lol

  I don't like using Jehovahs' name anymore

  i must say the more and more i learn and find my way around my spirituallity the less i use the name jehovah.

  it just reminds me of everything i went through, reminds me of the ""bad"" and not the good of god.

  it reminds me of hypocracy and mind control.

  Did Rutherford borrow the name "Jehovah's witnesses"?

  i was doing some searches on google books tonight using "jehovah's witnesses" and i was stunned with these references from 19th and early 20th century texts which use the term "jehovah's witnesses.

  " i don't have the time to develop this info into a full-fledged post, but i ask those who might be interested in the subject to check these references out.

  (i realize some of these may not work outside the us due to copyright issues and i've put the page number next to the url to aid in finding the reference).

  I find it interesting that the publishing company was "The Macmillian Company" for "A Commentary on the Holy Bible" (only one I looked at).

  I wonder how that might be related to Alexander Macmillan, friend of Charles Russel?

  welp...

  it's been a crazy ride for over 25 years, pretty much raised as a witness (ever since i could remember), rebelled against my parents, came back, straighten out for a little while, married within "the truth", but the last 5 to 7 years, i've been seriously questioning the changes and doctrines established by the wts.

  never thought i would be looking from this side of the fence.

  I remember that after my fade, I didn't want to have ANYTHING to do with the Witnesses, pro or con, for years.

  I think it was about 1999, that I finally typed "Jehovah's Witnesses" in the ol' search engine and couldn't stop reading.

  That is the site that started it all for me and I just kept reading from there. It's ashame that the Watchtower Observer isn't around anymore because Kent had SO much information about all the scandels, etc in one place. That was another one that I couldn't stop reading.

  Interesting idea but what benefits does it have over what we learned in the Ministry School? I'm serious...for once...btw.

  Of all the things about being a dub, I really do appreciate my ability to speak in public and have no fear of knocking on doors, which actually helps me in my local political arena. It also got me out of "Communications" in school.

  Finally, I took Dale Carnegie a number of years ago. Is it anything like that? Knowing tricks to remember names, impromptu speaking on any topic, "handling" people, etc?

  (Attn Girls) What color should I color my hair?

  i'm really ready for a change.

  my hair has been the same for two years now and i just want something different.

  i would do it pink or whatever but i have an appointment with my hair cutter person (1 mile from my house) -- not my crazy color person (who is two hours away) .... this one has colored my hair twice and does a great job but she is just not one to do crazy off the wall things.
