(ap) - severely injured patients treated at the university of kentucky hospital trauma center could soon begin receiving a blood substitute as part of their care.. uk hospital is one of seven trauma centers that are launching a national clinical trial to evaluate the oxygen-carrying blood substitute called polyheme, which is manufactured by northfield laboratories of evanston, ill. the trial, which will begin at uk hospital in early may, will evaluate the safety and efficacy of polyheme in the treatment of severely injured trauma patients.. "there have been hemoglobin-based oxygen carriers and other oxygen carrier solutions in development for decades," said andrew bernard, a trauma surgeon at uk hospital.

Farkel V Minimus - Lets talk

just recently the forum has seen some posts relating to these two prominent members of the forum.

we have the thread about farkel being a genius, and the thread where farkel and minimus have a bit of a "shebang" (that's nw england talk - excuse me).. the thing is, i honestly think that both of these people are becoming a little bit too enthralled with their own importance.. farkel's "concerned about minimus" thread was a deliberate jibe at minimus, and minimus clearly is p**sed off with farkel's comments.. overall i think that farkel has outstanding talent and intelligence, however he is harsh and obviously has some personal problems (as do i, and many of us).

minimus is a great contributor to the forum, but he appears shallow and sycophantic.. lets get the whole issue out of the way.

If attention is what you need, the only way you're going to get it on a forum this big is by being disruptive. I would be surprised if there was no attention grabbing flame fests on a board this busy, there's always somebody who needs to be the center of attention. I think I can overlook a little of that now and then, but it gets boring after awhile.

Well that and have a kickass profile picture....rraarr!

i've lost old hotmail accounts and the old account info that went with them.

but it is me, es, essie, esmerel/alda, in addition to anything else obscene i may be known by in these parts.. i just pounded this out in pure frustration.

i'm probably going to get heckled for posting it but what the hell, there isn't anywhere else i can go where people will get this, and i can't keep it inside, it has got to go somewhere before my brain explodes.. so here it is.why did i go to that restaurant today?

I don't want to be a witness, ever, ever again. I dont' want them to get my child. Bad enough she is exposed (on and off) to the cult through her father.

Do your best to keep yourself whole, keep your child as protected as possible. Try if you can to help your family but if you have to protect yourself by using what has been taught to you and cutting them off then you have too. Remember, celelebrate the holidays with your daughter like they were the most important thing ever and I think she'll be alright. I've come to the realization that if I'm going to live normally and have my children protected and to stay sane, I'm going to have to "disassociate" myself from my family. Unfortunately they have made the too easy for me too do. Anyway, keep your head up and look forward to the new Trek prequel that's in the works. Slippy p.s. Do I know why you don't drive? I'm sorry if I've forgotten.

i remember reading a few times here that there are passages in the bible that reference books that are no longer included in the official canon for both protestant & catholic denominations.

anybody have links & writeups on these passages & references?

You want to search on the terms "Bible Canon" "Deuterocanonical Apocrypha" and "Apocrypha". It's actually fascinating what you will find. I found it interesting that the Society went right along with the bible canon that was laid out by the Harlot, false religion.
