I've grown as a person so much. of course I left when I was 20 soo... most people change during those years anyway. but I spent my entire teenage years shy and ashamed of who I was. now I can talk to everyone and not give a damn what they think of me. I also hated the judgemental attitude witnesses have. now I'm happy

LMAO. Why hasn't playing call of duty taught me how to shoot a real life M-16? Why haven't supermarkets eliminated hunger? Why hasn't cars + airplanes = flying cars? why hasn't evolution eliminated evil? none of these things are related. lol.

WT SHUNNING POLICY: What has it done, or could it do to you?
by flipper inhi y'all, this is mrs. flipper.
please share your experiences with this, or possible consequences of being outed.. this recent controversy and resulting arguments all stem from people being outed - possibly losing friends and family because most jw's will blindly follow the watchtower's rules to shun them.. among people i know and experiences read here, the grief and loss caused by this is terrible, and maybe now is a good time to put up some experiences here, and put the focus on the worst villians of all - wt policymakers..

I was gonna start a thread about this till i found this one. I just wanted to give a big shout out to everyone that has had to endure this madness, especially the ones with a huge percentage of family and friends in the org! You all are so brave and an inspiration. I was very lucky compared to all you. My parents were converts (i was a witness from 2nd grade till age 18) and all four of my siblings exited the religion behind me, my mother was DFd and i couldn't give a rats ass about anyone in the congregation anyway. My father kept contact to a minimum till my daughter, his first grandchild was born. Now he wants to spend time with her and my son (ages 3 and 1) all the time. I feel like everytime he sees the love that me n my kids have its a victory for us! I'm closer to my kids than i was to him and he can see that. I also feel like he has a hard time believing that we will be executed in his gods upcoming genocide.

Hmmm... Seems like a "Leave me the F#%K alone!!!" would suffice.
If that doesn't work right away, she should add a "Bit$H!!"
That should do the trick.

7 graphs that prove America is overrated
by Simon inbefore the usual suspects start reaching for the pich-forks and forming a mob, i invite you to actually read and consider this, not just leap to conclusions.. http://www.globalpost.com/dispatch/news/regions/americas/united-states/130607/7-graphs-america-overrated-nsa-prism-privacy.
why do i care?
it seems the people being screwed the most are also the most visciferous defenders of the status quo which sees them being severely disadvantaged.. maternity leave?

Just to clear things up a little bit, there are many unemployed Americans on a very long vacation who eat for free with EBT in California and many men and women who get free milk, eggs, cheese and cereal with WIC checks. The government taxes the rich and gives this money to the less fortunate. Sadly these programs are grossly abused, but there is no lack of effort for trying. Yes there are lots of lazy dopes who stand at freeway exits but they could get jobs if they tried. (McDonalds is always hiring talent)

Time for this Newbie to say - Hello everyone!
by SeventhSojourn inin just the several months i've been lurking here, i have benefited from many of the posters comments and viewpoints.
this is truly a special place for the unique community that has been created here.. after years of holding off my exit from the org (that may be another post) i recently became officially out (by letter of da), but it was a very difficult process as many of you know.
thankfully, i now have my wife (was also a witness) onboard and we support each other.

Hello, Glad you broke free from the cult. Live and love life with your family man. I love reading threads here nightly because we are all part of a unique community of people (ex-jw's) and even though people are all over the grid here personality wise, they get eachother. I honestly don't think i could ever talk to someone about how my life was screwed up because of a religion who has never been a witness. But here i can read the post and instantly relate. So welcome and congratulations on getting your life back!
