Had a visit on Saturday from 2 JWs
by poppers inin the course of my encounter i let them know how i felt about their shunning policy and how it destroys families, and referenced oompa.
the lady said there would be more suicides if they didn't disfellowship people!
huh?

This was well done... comments i remember : " you should be out playing" ... "your being misled... just ask Ray Franz"... "you guys are still preaching the same ol bullshit" "the bible warns of false prophets like the watchtower society"
all these over the course of years (15-10 years ago) and i clearly remember the location where these happened and vaguely the persons description ... more than any return visits i had... so im pretty sure you planted a seed! i hope i get this opportunity someday!

welcome... your asking questions shows that you are much to intelligent to feed your brain with watchtower BS! i read all the coments and the advice is solid and better than any i could give.. apply it please! let me go the Watchtower route instead and share an experience for your son... i was a jw child from age 7-18... at first it didnt phase me to be different because i thought all my classmates eould be killed by jesus soon anyway ( how screwed up is that). as i got older i was isolated and a loner and miserable. its ok i thought... i will soon be perfect... the misery grew from the pain ofnot associating with my peers because they were "bad association". the whole time im a straight A student being told to go to a trade school n learn something that could get me bywhile i pioneered ( which i did for a year and a half @ age 17) but i was never happy! never good enough! after i leaving the anxiety was too much and i spent a few years dabbling in drugs n whatever else u can think of... i finally grew as a person to be the happy n proud father i am today... and at the same age as you at 28 im telling you as u should know that your kids are your paradise! give them all of your love and dedication not jehovah... do not

i predicted when i was 17 that they would go out of business (joking) but i mean seriously how can they afford all those things they print. we laughed that u would get the WT via email and u would have to print your own... now that seems right around the corner

Standard of Living in the New System
by cobaltcupcake ini used to wonder about this when i was still a dub: since they believe the industrialized world is going to be destroyed and the entire earth will be one big garden, exactly what kind of standard of living do they think they will have?
while they might be able to scavenge, say, a microwave oven or washing machine; and they might be able to figure out how to generate electricity, eventually all of these things will wear out and they'll be back in an early 18th century type of life.
people of that time and earlier who enjoyed a high standard of living employed armies of servants to do the dirty work, but since equality will reign in the ns, everyone will have to toil like a slave just to maintain the basics.. or do they think that big j will magically power their washing machines and water pumps and all the stuff that makes modern living so comfortable?.

im pretty sure they thinkjehovah is gonna unleash a new theocratic science of never ending clean energy and is gonna zap pollution! he will also zap the shit from the port a potties while u sleepbetween the sheep and vegetarian lion! all the meanwhile carving your own ukelele (spelling?) and having an eternity to play it... wait dont think about it? pass out magazines instead! (that was always the elders response in the 90s)

Dating tips for men- Requesting input
by keyser soze ini've been thinking about putting together a pamphlet of things that have worked well for me over the years.
if it's successful, maybe it will lead to seminars or classes.
feel free to critique, or chime in with your own.
