since i've been a child my mother has studied on and off with jw's ( i'm now 34) so i've been around it most of my life, i studied on and off myself for around 10 years.
thank's to this site and jwfacts i'll never study or step foot inside a kingdom hall again.

Interesting thread. I'd realllllllllllly like to be inside the head of someone who takes the bible at face value and the word of god. I just don't get it. To me its similar to reading Greek Mythology. They created these Gods and stories to explain why things were the way the were. The bible is the Jewish version of that. We die because of talking snake. We speak different languages because of a tower built toward heaven. Israel wandered the wildernes because of a golden calf. (Did anyone ever think that maybe they just got lost?) Etc. etc. If i was taking the bible at face value i would take verses from the song on solomon and women's breast and make a religion based on those verses.

A Great Party Last Night.
by Thoughtless inlast night i went to a party with a (worldly) gal yesterday, twas great, but i feel like we are losing intimacy.
i haven't told her about my religion because i am afraid she may judge me or something.
i have a very complicated past and such, and the borg complicates it further.

Moses huh? One of my younger brothers is having a baby (he never bought that JW stuff at all) and he decided to name his baby Moses. I found it an interesting choice, but maybe i was just overthinking it.

satanus... maybe i dunno... im known as a big advocate for atheism by all who know me. I'm friends with a wide variety of people. Other aetheist, convert christians, gays, gangsters, etc. Its just not something i like to talk about. When people ask me how i grew up... i just say "christian" because i feel that its easier than explaining what the hell a Jehovah's Witness is. LOL
