Having two elders come over under the auspices of one matter, then launching into an all-out 'postate hunt'. That little shepherding call ended with them accusing us of involvement in a very serious felony, something we knew nothing about. What it came down to was 1) their teachings/prophecies aren't true, and 2) the fruitage/conduct in their lives isn't true......hmmmmm.

Straw that broke the Camels Back
by Perfection Seeker inso, whats the straw that broke the camels back in your life?
what was the final last straw that made you say thats it- no more?
i have so many-for 15 years i kept getting that last straw-and trying to ignore it- but i think the last straw was when my dad died- everyone kept (keeps) giving me the line of bs about never seeing him again unless i go to meetings.

Why do they go back?
by zenpunk ini always hear at least two stories a year about someone i know who's left the "truth" goes back despite the trauma surrounding their departure.
this morning i heard yet another story.
a few years ago and elder's wife in my former uk congregation abruptly left the organization, surprising everyone and getting a big df in the process.

Lots of good posts.......something else in line with the airplane incident, it's called 'magical thinking' ; every negative thing that happens is interpreted as punishment from God, but back in with the JW mindset, negative experiences are called ' persecution '. A very safe, albeit limited, formula.

Kent....thank-you for your great efforts in exposing the hypocrisy of the WBTS. My disenchantment with them began when I was no longer able to reconcile dishonest and unloving conduct. But it was still, in the back of my mind, just MY experience. Your tireless work of cross-referencing so much of their PRINTED dogma was part of what really helped me see that THE PROBLEM with the WBTS goes all the way back to it's inception. WOW!!...again, thanks..peace to you and yours.

WHY D.A YOURSELF??
by In_between_days inhi guys,.
this is a question for those that have dissasociated yourselves, and it might seem really stupid.. a while back i had a conversation with my parents in which i claimed that if i had ever been baptised i would have certainly dissasociated myself.
i asked whether or not they would still have contact with me.. they said yes, but would avoid having me at family gatherings.. i was not happy with this, but at least it was'nt as bad as shunning.. despite my standing now, my parents are now starting to get over it, and have been great, i cannot imagine my parents shunning me, despite anything i am still their daughter.

Just as I would do everything in my power to end all connections with any other legal entity that conducts itself like the WBTS, I feel that Da'ing sends a clear message that I condem such behavior and that I in no way want to be affiliated with them.

Jim's brother was Gil.......At my last Cow Palace trance I put the name ' Ura Pruved' on my tag and my wife put ' Ima Pruved ' on her's. It was so funny, people thinking we were from a foreign country...if they only knew.

Diabolical, Isn't it? (New WT "Beroean")
by winsome in"slave organization" re-defines a "beroean" -- ones "willing to believe" without checking scriptures
something very diabolical i believe is going on with the wts.
years ago, when i joined the jw organization, we were encouraged to become a "beroean".

Obiwan......good point, makes me think of that well-worn illustration about ' cooking a frog by slowing turning up the waters temp.' For the WBTS frog, methinks the ' water ' is getting a tad bit uncomfortable.

Convention Apostatizing Brings Gestapo Response
by outnfree inmy flyers merely said: if as a jehovahs witness, a member of your family has been molested information is available for further information see: www.silentlambs.org or call 1-877-wtabuse.. nothing overtly inflammatory, actually more like a public service announcement.. i guess thats what most of the local organizers and friends thought in my neck of the, woods for the first two days of the district convention!
but once the 'friends' realized that the website i was promoting with my flyers and moving car billboard was not an approved wt site, the powers that be got ... well ... pissed is the word!.
nobody bothered me on friday as i went smiling about my posting flyers on the light and utility poles on the routes to/from the convention site.

OutnFree.....when I read of 'field experiences' like yours, I know I'm hanging with the right crowd. Thank-you...also...I Da'd because I, in no way, wanted to be used as a statistic in support of their ' world-wide brotherhood '. Certainly there are people I miss, but really, for me, when it got down to it, not being a 'company person' always stifled those relationships anyway. My decision has served as a real impetus for the process of closure. Just my thoughts.

Treating the pioneers "Just So."
by LDH ini was reading jjrizo's thread about elders who take advantage of the kh, and i had a memory i'd like to share.
all my life growing up i had heard about how "jehovah takes care of those who put kingdom interests first.
" and all of those experiences on the platform about getting an envelope "with the exact rent amount due the day before we were to be evicted" and so on.

lest I forget...thank-you Island Woman for your courage to add to this site. I believe we need each other to get through whatever it is we've been through. Peace to you.

Island Woman..if you're still here.....I was not saying that a congregation can't treat a pioneer well. Please read the black words and not the white spaces in between. We are just sharing our experiences and if there happens to be a number of them pointing out a conflict regarding what is said as opposed to what really transpires, so be it. But to conclude that we are saying no pioneer was ever treated properly, would be like me asking you, from your post,' are you saying Island Woman that all pioneers have never been mistreated ? It wouldn't make sense to conclude that from what you said. Likewise, once again, we are not saying that all congregations are neglectful of their pioneers. It's just our experience.
