Just a side thought..... a Witness in our area said that more emphasis is being put on "informal, casual witnessing" instead of door to door. Perhaps explains why, when driving around our little berg, I hardly ever see 'em out and about.
reports are being circulated that congregation elders in new south wales have been instructed what to tell householders who raise questions about the recent "sunday" program report.

a week ago thursday, i realized i was developing an upper respatory problem, likely bhronchitis, or maybe pneumoina.
i have suffered with this and asthma all my life since i was 2 years old.
however, after my heart attack in may, i dreaded this happening, as the reduced oxygen can mess up an already weak heart.

my daughters boyfriend was at his moms the other night and the elders just happened to stop by and talk with him.. anyhow, after their discussion about him and my daughter and the baby and what they are going to do, (havent been to meetings in 7 months mind you), her boyfriend told the elders that he no longer wanted to attend meetings and my daughter told them the same.. the elders admitted to them that there is a huge number of people that felt the same way, and the halls are much emptier than they ever were.. hmmm, i wonder why?.

You are right on about the "hunts". I Da'd a while ago, but not my wife. Of course I could be written off as "dead wood" anyway, always struggling to "get it right". Not so with the wife. One of their best pioneers. She is now "inactive" (sounds like an old nuke plant). Elders pop in every now and then to force the issue with her. Their concern is so transparent. She simply tells them that she is doing all she can and will leave it in God's hands. They slither away to set a trap at a more convenient time.
i wish them peace.
at the end of the conversation i did not feel we were in agreement.
for similar reasons i believe ray has not supported the issue of child abuse being a problem in the organization to media and by personal comments to persons who ask him privately about this.

when i spoke by phone recently with the author of that presentation, and pointed out that i had never expressed the views presented, his comment was that from his previous conversation with me (held some months earlier) he "got the impression that i was not on the same wave length" with him.
So is it time now for the group hug. Isn't that what they do after one of those grueling, seemingly non-productice group counseling sessions.....makes me think of someone's line " what you do in this world will be of very little significance, but it's vitally important that you do it"
the other night i was at my in-laws house for dinner.
they are both jehovah's witnesses and try every now and then to plant some thoughts in our heads to get us concerned.
this night was no exception, with small words and phrases popping up through the evening.

Good post.This thread comes around from time to time. There are many people in varied responsibilities, both religious and non-religious, who feel the system could fail at any time. I've come to appreciate that their words are just as credible as WBTS. But knowing when and if the system is going to end is not my job. I've been given the assignment of taking care of the day in front of me. For me, that was a big problem in being a Witness; I was asking the "God of all Creation" to give me milleniums of days in the future, but couldn't, on a regular basis, deal successfully with the one in front of me. Though the Witnesses would have obliged that fatal predicament, (as long as I kept showing up for meetings and the back-room discipline), I looked for help elsewhere. Things aren't perfect, but they are better. I now try to take care of my "job" and let God do his.
