  i've been a witness for as long as i can remember.

  cannot remember ever celebrating a birthday or any holidays.

  my grandmother introduced my parents and siblings to the religion.. it hasn't been a bad experience at all, except for the time when my hormones kicked in at 18 years old and i fornicated with my first boyfriend (it was awesome really!

  Welcome to the board. As I was reading your experience, it occured to me just how much WE will settle for. As has been demonstrated by many responses, some commend you for a well-done "balancing act". Do we realize that many mental health practitioners would consider such an existence as "conflicted". I am familiar with that way of life, but for my sanity, yes for my pursuit of what I feel to be a real, necessary spiritual connection I, hopefully will never live that way again. Just a thought.

  My Finale on the Internet - Forword to 3 Parts

  life is tough regardless of whether we were ever jws.

  my own life has taken some twists and turns i did not expect or like ... and i have to focus all my attention now on getting my badly needed open-heart surgery or face death in about six months ... so in the next couple of days, i am making the last of three posts for a while ... then all my efforts will be aimed at getting better, and facing some issues in my life and making the best decisions possible for me and my family.

  i decided to limit many activities because i tend to do too much and neglect some things that i should not ... this is not a good-bye post, but more of a long vacation post.

  why were neither n. knorr nor f.franz reproved for their obvious vocal dissension with the governing body?

  if any r/f member had acted the way they had, they would have been df'd.

  COC is such a great tool for debunking the myths about the WBTS's "divine position". Hopefully many more will access this tool in breaking free from another, if I may use the expression, "petty", man-made religion. KEEP READING!

  Young 'Hovahs Out in Field Service.....

  they just seem to not exist.

  in my daily travels, in fact i rarely see any 'hovahs out in service, let alone young ones.

  she is a teller at my bank, and a hottie, too!

  While going home for lunch the other day, I noticed a couple of younger gals out in the ministry. Me thinks to myself, " Haven't seen that very often, must be new move-ins, cuz I don't recognize them." Later that day, as I returned from work, well here they come up my driveway, and me thinks again," Here goes, I'll try to be polite, but direct." As they approach, I notice these young gals have 'nametags', hey, guess what, they're MORMONS. Seems others are still doing the " work ".

  To Newbies, hurt and justhuman,

  Sloboy's spouse here. I have stood in those shoes and stared them down right on my porch. "How can I expect Jehovah to preserve me alive?" they asked me. I told them if he's a God of Love and he chooses to preserve me into a Paradise he will, but if not, because He Is A God of Love, then if he chooses to destroy me, I will just be asleep. The looks on their faces were unbelievable.

  "The elder loses power over you" hurt said. So true, and you do start to breath and live again.

  justhuman said "I WORK" in response to questions of his whereabouts on meeting days.

  Loved your response justhuman. I am middle aged, working 40 hrs a week and going to college. No children to help me in my golden years, no education and Lord knows I never needed to think about my financial future. . . . . Hello!!?? So that's another thing I told them, "I'm taking care of some matters that I have neglected for decades."

  First it gets different, then it gets better. I amangry, but I laugh too.

  Just wanted you both to know that you are not alone, as so many on this board have affirmed the same for me, including you two. Happy Thursday.

  Watchtower Society Given Prestigious Medical Award

  it's as if many of you are afraid to mention anything positive just in case it might reveal that jehovah's witnesses are humans who keep trying, even after various human failings, to make a positive impact on this world.. don't you agree that it's fair to give them credit when due?

  Ah yes, those prestigious awards. Makes me think about that "prestigious award" given by Time Magazine for their "Man of the Year" award back in the 1930's. Unfortunately, most people were sadly duped as to what sort of person Adolf Hitler really was.

  A small victory

  okay, my mom is elderly (80 yrs.

  old) and not able to get to all the meetings like she used to (which is definitely a plus for me!

  btw shes living with me now, since last spring, cause shes not able to keep up with things anymore).

  GB disassociates itself!!

  dear brothers:

  as you have admitted, the watch tower bible & tract society did join the united nations as a non government organization in 1992 ending in 2001, and according to the following watch tower this means that by their own actions they disassociated them selves from jehovahs organization which means that we must treat them like disfellowshiped ones.

  in other words they are no longer jehovahs witnesses or have any right to that name.

  Good post, so true. My wife and I believe the test for us is to be available when other friends will need support. At times, yes, it is difficult not to implode with anger over the treatment the WBTS deals out, but because of people like you and others, we've been able to endure. I hope Simon hears a big thanks in this post.
