It doesn't seem that the point of contention here is whether the incidence of mental illness is greater in THE ORG. or on the outside. Once again, as with so many of the problems common to the human experience, the pressing question is: HOW ARE Y0U TAKING ACCOUNTABITITY FOR THEM. As one elder said to me at my reinstatement committee " We alls got dysfunction! " Where did they learn the word? I'm siding with rekless; mental illness is just as rampant in the org. as out, so call a spade a spade, cuz there's a big difference in living with a treated illness as opposed to an untreated one.

Inactive JW attemps suicide........
by Robinhood inhello my husband robinhood had been posting our story here and will continue soon!
however, something happened this week that brought out the anger and rage against the jw's with me and i really need to vent.
i guess i got a good look at how the borg is treating the people of sherwood.

Robinhood..... Although a sad post, one, that never the less, needed to be posted. These real-life situations are the things that will help others see through the fog of dishonest WBTS propaganda. People's lives are being pushed in a dangerous direction under the " loving guidance of spiritul shepherds ". A travesty indeed!! I just returned home to find out that a young man in our area, raised in the truth, has committed suicide. He evidently had a history of drug-abuse. I can't speak with the parents, but I hope they get some comforting words and not more of what you so accurately related.

Lyin Eyes...thanks for the thread...one of the tools the WBTS uses well is what I like to call the ' dynamic of isolation '. First off, when you question certain policies or conduct, your concerns are usually invalidated and you are asked to get in step with the rest of the worldwide brotherhood and wait on Jehovah, like you are the only one, anywhere, concerned about such a matter. Then, as the process moves you to questioning the Organization, you are given the ol' " there is nothing out there but total lonliness for people like you ". Once again, by testimony to this site and to the many who post, the WBTS's fear of the internet is well-founded.

THANKS to Steve and Rachael
by Carmel ini just want to take the opportunity to thank steve and rachael (princess) for hosting an excellent party.
contrary to what may have been a false impression, though there was beer and wine for those who wanted, the gathering was not a "kegger" and teetotalers and children were both safe!.
my personal thanks and warmest regards to our wonderful hostess and host.

Steve and Rachel.... I just got home today. What a great get-together it was. It was the highlight of my trip. Putting together something like that can't be taken for granted. You two have a lovely home and your efforts were certainly rewarded. Though I didn't know most of the folks present, everyone made me feel welcomed and secure. It was so special, and the benefits of being there with all of you will continue. Sincerely, SloBoy

Sunshine... Blondie had a good point. Although a great many of us would love to see an Oprah segment like that go down, it doesn't sound like you're in a very grounded space to act on it. So keep getting suggestions and be o.k. with whatever YOU decide.

Bill...on a certain level, I feel great sadness to see/hear how these ' spiritul men ' are acting. For so long, to me, they represented all of a loving God's qualities. So sad. Principles will always monitor all our conduct. Peace to you, you brave soul.

Dear Morrisamb, Ms. Morrisamb and Tucky,
This is Sloboys spouse responding.
My heart goes out to all of you. I have been mulling this whole issue over and over, thinking about the two stinkin' witness policy. It led me to this. . . when there is a murder there is a dead body as evidence. Where there is molestation there is a dead spirit. The change in the abused child is so blatant, so obvious, so heartbreaking that only the most callous, oblivous, religiously addicted individuals would not notice. The organization of JW's is full of these little children, walking wounded, and the organization and any in it who turn a blind eye to their suffering and refuse to stand up and protect them are oh so culpable. May all of you survivors sleep well tonight.
Much love.

Question for all Jw.com
by haujobbz ini dont know if you been asked this before but what made you give up your religious beliefs,i assume that not all on here were jehovahs witnesses so if you were not please say.well i will telll you why i left, i got baptised as a jw 2 yrs ago and then started to notice say 6 months after baptism that the followers didnt really heed the what they were being taught it didnt seem to motivate them in their hearts, to say display genuine love it was more like a routine to them to be at meetings, talk to same ones, read watchtowers,it seemed so mechanical like robots,im not saying this is what caused me leave because i was serving genuinely i was really interested in practising what i preached, but i found it hard because everyone wasnt trying to do the samething.so then gradually i started to question things and then i got the internet last year and was itching to look on these so called apostate sites, you see i wanted to prove these sites wrong but in the end i was proved wrong with things like prophecies, jws past history, etc.
so thats my story

I joined the JW's looking for the truth, and I left the JW's looking for the truth. I saw little truth in what they teach and how they act.

Bleep....perhaps you misunderstood me....I wasn't seeking relief from my condition to pursue greedy things. But, again, a typical JW response. Have you had a tooth fixed lately? or seen a doctor recently? why didn't you just wait for the new order? you see witnesses can incorporate all sorts of remedies in this system as long as the WBTS sanctions it, and they claim it's to better do 'God's will'. But try and improve your situation in a way they won't accept and automatically you have become a greedy person, one without faith. Your response once again demonstrates that mindset well. Oh, by the way, keep coming back.
