When I first saw this article, I thought " How much more complacent could a person be, than to abdicate their resposibility of thoughtful investigation. JW's don't need to bother to find out the truth of a matter, just let WBTS do it for them ". What a load of bogus propaganda!....btw..does anyone remember a C.O., D.O. named Angelo Manera. He'd go balistic over the parting phrase " take it easy ".

WT Attacks Being 'Easygoing' October,1,02 WT
by ISP inshould you be easygoing?
most people would probably feel that it is a compliment to be thought of as an easygoing person, one with a relaxed, placid, tolerant nature.
however, there is another side to easygoingness.

Dear Bill,
My wife and I were just commenting on what amazing things have taken place in the last year. She reminded me of the one poster who said," the Dateline story is coming, yeah, right, and so is Armageddon ". What great progress. Let all know that from here on out, things will never be the same with regard to WBTS policy. No matter how hard they try to confuse and obscure, it will never go back. And whenever I hear any of them tout what a great child abuse policy they NOW have, I'll know that whatever good there is in that policy came about through the courageous efforts of people like you. And that angers the hierarchy more than anything else, even the abuse of innocent children. From this point on, all that is left for the WBTS is to either accept accountability, make true, humble amends or continue in their desperate course of unquenchable dishonesty. As a recent ex-Witness, my life has been impacted. I'm sure that a great many of us on this site have, in their own way, in their own locale, been dealing with heart-breaking circumstances. We just want you to know how much your example meant to our sanity, our health, perhaps our very lives. Seeing others act noblely, inspires others to endure. Thank-you. What lies ahead, well , it could be a guessing game, but whatever happens, I pray we can say AND DO all those things that make us true brothers.

The Pedophile Paradise
by Amazing inthe pedophile problem among the jws is very significant.
over a year ago i made some extrapolations from a poll on jwd that conservatively suggested about 5,300 jw molesters in the usa, or about (1) jw pedophile for every (2) jw congregations in the united states.
given that pedophiles molest many victims, at least 70 or more in their criminal careers by conservative estimates, this can add up to a lot of victims --- not all are necessarily jw victims --- but still the collective crimes of jw pedophiles would average over 370,000 victims.. since that time that over 5,000 victims have come forward to email, phone, and write letters to silentlambs --- as stated last night on connie chung/cnn.

Hey...Did we get the significance of Jan's post when he said the term "pedophile paradise", when first used, had nothing to do with numbers. When I close my eyes and visualize "paradise", I most certainly don't see hordes of people. It describes, and rightfully so, a condition that is CONDUCIVE to the propagation of certain acts. Many congs. may well not have a pedophile in their midst( I've personally never seen such a cong. ), but that doesn't mean that the CONDITIONS and CICUMSTANCES aren't ripe for pedophile activity. I don't care how some choose to misconstrue the application of the term. Due to WBTS policy, it fits. And until you've seen people thrusting their small children into the arms of a CONVICTED molester just to prove that they don't believe no stinkin' courts decision, then you can't comprehend how wonderful the "paradise" truly is for such pedophiles.

even if the "new system" never comes
by ConnieLynn inlast night i called to do the "check-in" thing on my mom.
she had just been to the assembly and she was all fired up and decided to give me an earful.
apparently, at the assembly all in attendance were told that "this is it" the end is nigh and they should do all they can to prepare for the impending destruction about to befall everyone.

Hi ConnieLynn,
I enjoyed meeting you at the get-together. This thread certainly is something many can relate to. Though no one in my family is a Witness( other than my wife ), I find it amazing at times to hear people respond like your mother. But someone once told me to look for the similarities and not always the differences. So on one hand, I can kinda relate to your mom. It's like what we call " hedging your bet ". When I look around at the world today I say "Gee, it COULD all come apart tomorrow". So the WBTS has capitalized on that concern of many people, has offered their version of deliverance and does what it needs to keep people in line. People, and rightly so, are betting that the system is going down. No matter what they say, they never really get this out of their mind. We are not honest enough to say, "look, I'm really afraid that if and when the world ends, I don't want to be on the losing side, whatever that may be. And these Witnesses have presented something to me, that for TODAY, looks hopeful. For TODAY, I'm willing to turn a bit of a blind eye to some pertinent facts and questionable conduct, and hang with them come hell or high water. And since I'm too afraid to let you know how really scared I am, I'm just going to say that ' even if it doesn't end, it's a good life ' ". For these people, this approach is, for TODAY, working. Though it does amaze me, I cannot judge them, for I too fell victim to this mindset. Detach with love, love from a distance, and continue with your own process. It's one of the ways I find peace through this whole thing.

Minimus......Their interpretation of waiting on Jah is so subjective; always a win/win for them. If one calls attention to a problem, he's not waiting on Jah. But see how quickly they orchestrate bogus judicial committees, all to the end of silencing the "offender". Where's the waiting on Jah? Does He need their corrupt manuverings to do His Will? It's all so transparent.

Yo Dakota.....good show ol' boy. How about "Cheyene" and "Wanted: Dead or Alive" with Steve McQueen? Hate to admit it, but on those old soda pop machines you could reach in and hold the lever up and load up a good days worth of Coke.

New Tract-Youths What Will You Do With Your Life
by Scarlet ini was wondering if any of you have read this tract that was given out at the district convention .. i found in this tract they are pushing the fulltime ministry more than ever before.
they in so many words say if you are not a fulltime minister you are not serving god.
it stated that youths today should not strive for academic success.

Just more fodder for " cognitive dissonance ". I know of very few JW's under the age of 40 who aren't married, working full time, having kids, buying homes, new cars; you know, getting a "piece of the pie". I don't object to these things, but it will really work a cummulative whammy on your psyche when you're telling others to forgo these things and in actuality you're neck deep in all this " wordly " stuff. But if you notice, thats the exact condition of most of the "glorious ones" in the congregations today. If there are any young lurkers out there remember, you can be educated AND principled at the same time. Peace.

Someone once said the two biggest fears of most people are 1) losing something you think you have, and 2) not getting something you think you need. Big Tex hit it with the idea of " control ". They fear losing it and not continuing to wield it. And perhaps the thing they most worry about undoing their control is the unveiling of how " new light " policies actually come about through good ol' public pressure, i.e. child molestation policies. Because try as they may, things HAVE CHANGED, they can't GO BACK, and more and more people will know why.

Viv....Since I Da'd a few months ago, hardly a night ( or nap) goes by that I don't have some sort of strange emotional dream involving JWs. It gets to be a little debilitating at times. But thanks to this site, I know it is part of the process of distancing myself from an organization rife with dangerous dymanics. May we all find peace.
