Did you notice they refer to "the male animal?"
Does that mean they now support evolution, we are merely animals and not the image of God?
is this true?
is this really true?!.

BREAKING NEWS | Kenneth Cook Appointed to the Governing Body
On Wednesday morning, January 24, 2018, it was announced to the United States and Canada Bethel families that Kenneth Cook had been appointed to the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Prior to being appointed to the Governing Body, Brother Cook was a helper to the Writing Committee.Brother Cook started pioneering on September 1, 1982, and began serving at the United States branch on October 12, 1984. The Governing Body is now composed of eight anointed brothers.
It is our united prayer that Jehovah continue to bless the Governing Body as it oversees the activities of Jehovah’s Witnesses worldwide.—1 Thessalonians 5:12, 13
so we have all heard the worldwide reports about khalls being sold off and congregations being amalgamated etc.... of course, jws are being told that these actions are a sign of "just how much the work is progressing, and how jehovah is blessing the increase and expansion!".
i can share the following from my part of the world too!.
in perth, western australia the following has occurred.. three "new" congregations have been formed!
In the description of the property we read:
The alternative is for community and church groups to enjoy the substantial improvements and car parking area, knowing the underlying land value is significant.
.....so they also have the positive feature that they can help expand Babylon the Great thanks to the hard work, and evidently with the blessings of God's happy people!
loyalty appears to be the buzzword constantly promoted by the gb at the moment.
we hear it at conventions, assemblies, and meetings.. let's face it loyalty covers so much.
shunning of family, friends etc.
SnuggleBunny:
“BROTHERS, I cannot begin to count the times you have put into my hands articles that contained just what I needed when I needed it most.”
"....boy I wish they would have put in my hands that it is ok to have an organ transplant before my child died refusing one!" Said the grief stricken mother!
Or substitute "blood fractions"
Or "career" Awake 5/22/1969: "you will never fulfill any career that this system offers."
Very convenient that the food comes just when needed for a select group, the rest of us, not so much.

quite frankly im disturbed at the lack of love and compassion.
especially for the first sister they talk about!.

Your post brought back many memories. My wife and I were part of the 1200 per year club too. At least you have your freedom of thinking now. Better it took 30 years than never!
The memories linger and at times torment though don't they?
despite decades of the feminist movement, watchtower's attitude of woman being inferior has changed little, with pauline sexism justified as inspired, on the basis that women are lesser emotionally, intellectually and physically.
jehovah's witnesses seem to accept this with little resistance.
is there anything about the #metoo movement that may wake followers up?
The laws have always been the laws.
Anita Hill didn't fare so well when she reported, and she was appearing before the law makers. One could say it was "he said, she said" but the setting was pretty much one woman before a room full of men. Hum, sort of like a JW molestation judicial hearing. No women need apply!
will they be making a lot of their gb helpers full fledge gb?
i think as they continue to loose money and members and contributions dry up, that many might be thinking how to get out of this financial mess with some sort of golden parachute, and hand over the reigns to their helpers.. i'm sure with all this bad that is happening to the corporation they would welcome an early retirement with a nice comfy nest egg away from all this bad publicity away from the public eye.
why do they want to keep fighting a losing battle give over their power for a nice comfy retirement.
.....and how exactly did Hitler die once he knew things were doomed?
Some people just can't let go.
some of my old jw friends are sickly and getting on in age.
so far, i’ve only gone to my mother’s memorial and have avoided the kingdom hall altogether.... your thoughts please?.
As a PIMO elder, I found doing funerals presented a great opportunity for me to speak "truth." The so called "talk" became a eulogy with anecdotes from the deceased's past. An opportunity to remind the audience that the deceased had believed they might never die and how they lived with that disappointment in their later years. I defined their faith in Jehovah, not an organization and reminded the audience that God never lied and he was faithful, hint, hint
Once, a known apostate attended a funeral I performed. He was very complimentary and expressed his appreciation. Best comment I heard! I did my job!
....oh and yes, I have been called to the back room of Kingdom Halls many times. Seems independent or free thinking is very much frowned on by leaders. The rank and file however seem to appreciate a refreshing change from what they are used to hearing at a JW memorial or funeral. Maybe that is why I've beeen asked to do so many funerals. People long to hear good things about a loved one's life and experience. Chastising into doing more for JW .... not so much!
One of the few things I was proud of while an elder.
someone at my workplace, i don't know who, is a jw and has been leaving magazines in the cafeteria.
any suggestion as to what i could do?
i thought of writing up a note stating: "to whoever is bringing these magazine: jw have broken up my family, please don't bring religion to work.
Since you are fading I'm wondering, aren't you taking a risk of exposing yourself with the letter and by going to HR? I think it is admirable, but make sure you have counted the cost to yourself.
just wondering if this is a common thing for you guys and girls?
when i left the jws it was hard to make a connection with people, much of the time i felt that whatever they wanted to talk about just didn't seem relevant/deep/meaningful.
i find myself filtering my mind to get to a level with others (small talk mostly).
Really enjoying all these thoughtful comments.
Even as a JW the preaching was mainly about who was right and finding the true religion, and not about what was right, how to live a meaningful life.
So much of what is recorded of what Jesus was supposed to have taught was about improving your quality of life. Don't be anxious, be forgiving, do unto others, all are great life principles that can add meaning to life. Instead as a JW, it was, do more you are not doing enough works, teach that you and your religion have all the answers.
JW's who lived 100 years ago thought they were just as close to the end and the future paradise as the JW's today. What is wrong with this picture? Like someone said earlier enjoy the pie now.
