It's an interesting series. I can't wait for the next episode: Necrotizing fasciitis -- was it designed?

Was it Designed?
by Jeffro inthe jw website is currently featuring a piece: the shell of the diabolical ironclad beetle—was it designed?
it is part of their regular tedious 'was it designed?
' series that purports that very very specific animal species must have been specifically designed because of some seemingly amazing feature.. but they seem completely unaware that this directly contradicts their notion that only very broad 'kinds' were required on the mythical 'ark'.

Blood is a finite resource, in a manner of speaking. Hospitals are always looking for ways to minimize its use, and JWs have occasionally benefitted.
I doubt that they will announce a clear change in direction, because it could open them up to lawsuits and more unwanted attention. But it would not surprise me if they kept hinting that it was now a conscience issue and not a line in the sand. They have weakened the policy so much with the allowance of fractions that easing up on the use of whole blood wouldn't be a scandal.

What exactly IS 1914 these days?
by Halcon init's no longer a year tying to the present (the old pre-1995 generation belief).
realistically, that's the only reason why it mattered.
and if it doesn't really matter what it is anymore, why would jw not do away with it?.

Letting 1914 fade away also means they no longer have to deal with the 607BC date. Granted, this is not something the rank and file pay much attention to. But not having to try to explain it anymore (or even accepting the 587/586 date) would be one less annoying detail to have to deal with (for the leadership).

Disaster preparedness
by ElderBerry inas your family considers its disaster preparedness plan, please ensure that the secretary has up-to-date contact information for you and your emergency contact.
also, we have re- peatedly seen good results when brothers and sisters are prepared with go bags and are ready to obey direction when they face various kinds of disasters.
please be sure you have a go bag, and review its contents at least once a year.

It's a good idea to have some supplies ready in case of emergency.
But what they are prepping for isn't an emergency. Will they really miss out on paradise because they didn't have a bag full of Spam and crackers on the day Jehovah decided to wage his final war on wickedness?

I guess they may be able to get away with keeping the 1914 date and 1919 confirmation if they drop the 'generations' part. Which they were on the way to doing after 1995. Bringing it back with the overlapping generations explanation was a dumb thing to do.
After all, there is so much that has been forgotten and left behind, including the fact that the 1914 calculations were for the start/end of Armageddon, not the beginning of the last days. Or how Russell used 1799 and 1874 as dates for the return of Christ and the beginning of the last days. Or how Rutherford started his tenure as WT president by making one failed prediction after another. And so on, right through 1975 and the 1995 change that invalidated so many of their 'time is short' warnings.
Stop talking about it, and it goes away. The rank-and-file don't know anything about the predictions for 1918, 1920, 1925, 1941, 1954, and 1975. They aren't aware of the change in 1995, and probably wouldn't know anything about the 'generation' teaching if not for the 2010 update. All they know is that 'some people may have gotten carried away in the past and read more into the WTS's words than was warranted'. The worst stuff has already been memory-holed. It wouldn't be that difficult to do the same with 1914, perhaps.

Norway
by St George of England inso the wt society is going to contest the recent norway ruling.. jehovah’s witnesses to appeal unconstitutional ruling in norway (jw.org).
their true colours are shown in the statement: "the decision to deregister jehovah’s witnesses denies us the financial aid and other benefits that the government provides to over 700 registered religious communities in the country.
additional consequences include losing the right to appoint and authorize ministers of jehovah’s witnesses as officiants for weddings.".

Not only does it seem inconsistent for them to accept government subsidies, they are turning to secular courts to try to get those payments reinstated.

Prediction: no more changes for a long while
by slimboyfat ini’ve noticed a pattern where things don’t go the way i expect them to go and/or whenever i realise there is a trend and, i mentally adjust for the idea that the trend will continue, the trend stops in its tracks.
so on that basis, and given many people, including myself, and active jws, have been asking ‘what changes will the governing body make next?’ perhaps the (disappointing) answer is: ‘nothing much for a while to come’.
maybe they’ve made the changes they want for now, and will wait a while and see how it’s received.

I wonder if they will end up with a situation like they have with the blood policy, only with DF instead. Where they keep making changes in response to pressure, slowly chipping away at it but never really reaching a conclusion. Then they are stuck with a policy that is mostly useless but can still do a lot of harm in the wrong circumstances.
I guess that is one way to know that the policy was wrong in the first place. That no matter how much you "adjust" it, it continues to be a bad idea until/unless you get rid of it completely.

Maybe he can make a video on the one-year anniversary of the "things are bad" video and title it "things are worse and my supporters officially suck." He can then ask if anyone has the means to send him on another trip across the ocean so that he can
bang hookerstry more illegal drugsrediscover his zest for living. -

I don't think he will find success straddling the line like that- either you are an exJW channel or an anti-religion channel. Most people who leave the JW faith are still looking for a place where they can worship, not walking away from religion altogether. There are plenty of exJW channels that focus on the WTS, without pushing political or anti-religious content.
If anyone still wants to visit his YT channel, feel free to challenge him on this. I am sure he will engage with you thoughtfully and respectfully and not act like a total obnoxious asshole in his replies. Good luck!!
