as soon as the 1,000 years have ended, Satan will be released from his prison, and he will go out to mislead those nations in the four corners of the earth
What nations? Wouldn't the Earth be under the unified rule of god at that point?
(acts 9:15, 16) but the lord said to him: “go!
(see acts 11:26).
(acts 5:40) .

in holland we say "not because it is requierd, but because it's possible.
before we shaved, and now we let it grow.
pinky ring, too!.
I wonder if there are any rank-and-file who get the impression that they are allowing beards because some of the GB wanted a beard.
since 1931, they have called themselves jehovah’s witnesses.
founded in 1879 by charles taze russell (1852-1916).
jw’s publisher is the watchtower bible and tract society, and their publications include "the watchtower" and "awake!
Vienne asked for original sources, and you offer... an anonymous comment to a question asked anonymously on a random website?
what are your memories of hall cleaning?.
i actually enjoyed it on the whole, my dad as the elder always tried to keep it to under one hour but in my later years in a hard-line congregation it was a chore.
the po's wife had a printed list and we had to complete it all before left (or got disapproving looks if we left after an hour).. as well as vacuuming the whole building the lost said you had to dismantle the vacuum and clean and polish all the internal elements.
Are you of the opinion that Jesus sacrifice can’t cover a sinner like Lloyd Evans?
Even a god can only do so much.
watchtower plays lots of games with definitions.
once they change a definition then they have a false assumption to build their deception on.
then they repeat the new definition and use its new meaning thousands of times to reinforce it.
The WTS uses the 'second prophetic fulfillment' concept to build new doctrines. That way, even if you read the original text and see the obvious conclusion (for example, that the 'other sheep' referred to non-Israelites), they can add an additional interpretation that applies to the present day (that the 'other sheep' refer to a non-heavenly hope). If we point out that this is not the original meaning, they will say that they are not challenging that interpretation; they have received divine guidance towards a second, modern fulfillment.
They did this with the "generation" teaching. It's nonsense on stilts, once you step back and see it without the cult blinders. But it is effective on those who are still in, because it doesn't mess with the original (and often clear) explanation. It adds a completely new one.
the september watchtower has already been released and is being discussed over on reddit.
some highlights: .
1. more hitting the flock on total reliance and obedience to god's representatives on earth today, the f&ds (the governing body, of course).
I wonder if the younger GB members are cringing at this messaging. They are the ones who will have to deal with the fallout when there is no GT and the world keeps going on as usual. There will be so much for them and any new recruits to clean up once the old guard has finally moved on.
But I hope they are not trying to imply that the CSA allegations, lawsuits, and investigations are a sign of the end. That could go very badly for them if they lose any high-profile cases or if more mainstream attention is given to the investigations. Your average JW knows only what the organization is telling them. And that message is probably still something like "JWs do not tolerate CSA or abusers. Although such cases may occur, the organization does everything in its power to protect children and remove abusers, unlike so many false churches." The further that their message gets from what is being reported, the tougher it will be on the rank-and-file to ignore it.
yeah wow women can finally wear pants and men beards...but 1914 is still a date not accepted since charles russell times and blood fractions are evil!!.
are they crazy!!!
!.
The 1914 teaching, by itself, isn't a huge problem for them (at least, as long as we ignore that Russell's interpretation was that 1914 was the date of the end itself, not the beginning of the end). The problem is that they added the "this generation" teaching to it, which created a sense of urgency, which is useful for end-days cults.
They quietly dropped that part in 1995, and that should have solved the problem. But without it, they don't have the sense of urgency anymore. So they came up with "overlapping generations." It's a really bad idea that they are stuck with for at least a while longer, and which I expect they will finally drop for good once the old guard are gone.
i noticed awhile ago jw.org was first; now jwn is back being first.
what determines that?.
I think the search results are influenced by your activity and browsing history, as well. It's difficult to say, since Bing has such an awful search function (made significantly worse by AI) and Google buries the actual results under almost a full page of paid adverts.
uh oh, looks like the mega thread gave up the ghost, so while i investigate / fix it just continue the discussion here .... it's been a long 9 years lloyd evans / john cedars.
Simon: He'll be one of those types that bemoans how poor he is when he's older because he didn't work and plan for that future.
And he won't admit that it's his own fault. Much easier to blame everyone else for his misfortunes. One thing that he might not realize is that he won't be able to count on patrons or wealthy supporters to keep comping him free vacations and trips around the world. Even the most hardcore supporters will eventually run out of patience, interest, or money.

I wonder if there will eventually be an update from him, griping about how quickly the courts are moving.
