i enjoyed reading the bible and my favourite was an asv i purchased at an a$$emby.. however, when i wanted to bone up on a passage or verse, i'd look at the insight or watchtowers and found the wtb$ really did ruin my enjoyment when they explained what i was reading.

i think it must have been the self serving spin the wtb$ put on the scriptures!.

anyone else get this and can comment why this happened?.

Never really read the bible till I met the JW's. Then loved it. Now don't read it. I feel a lot of it doesn't apply today.

Do you get a letter when you are disfellowshipped?

just curious, do they give you any kind of documentation?

is it all just by word?

surely they would have to give you something?.

DOC, I was thinking the same thing. Funny when I later wrote them and asked for a copy of my resignation letter they told me it was their property now.

this was some of the most blatant , aggressive , controlling information i've seen in awhile in the " witness only " version of the wt.

of course, it's always blatant, but the manner that was used in this article was so authoritative and demanding - it's apparent the wt society is losing members and they are amping up the control tactics to keep members trapped.

If anyone here still watches Spongebob.. There was a segment where Plankton put hats on all the people in Bikini Bottom and it made them all worship him. Everyone was going around saying "Hail Plankton"..Hail Plankton"..this so reminds me of that episode..

Who says you can't learn anything watching cartoons..

wouldn't this be wonderful if it truly works?

the boundaries are limitless... i read about something like this a few years ago and can't believe they actually did it.

i thought it would just disappear into oblivion..so glad to see they are still working on it.. http://news.yahoo.com/amazing-therapy-wipes-leukemia-study-205354211.html.

This is always so encouraging..the only sad part is remembering all the loved ones lost before the cure.

It is attacking a cancer cell, this can lead to so many other cures if it works.

If so does it have the accusations and punishment of shunning written on it?

Wouldn't this be the legal way to do it?

If not could you request something in writing..?

ps..I sent a letter of resignation to them and got a formal letter back saying , we hope you reconsider. Period. I threw it away..should have saved it and framed it..

i have an announcement to make:.

rick henry aka "animal" has just passed away.

on july 26, 2011, rick suddenly fell ill (for no apparent reason at the time) and had to go to hospital.

So sorry to hear this. My hubby did the same with the cancer. Got it in his lung and it spread to his liver. We wouldn't have know it if he hadn't jaundiced. he was only 4 years older than Rick. Shows you never know when it is your turn. Hubby only had 5 months after he ws diagnosed, sounds like poor Rick didn't have any time at all.

RIP Rick..

Because there are so many nuts running around now that claim to "Be inspired" how do I know one of them (or many) just like them didn't write the Bible? They had better drugs and smoked them legally and freely...............

Would make sense the way it speaks ..nonsense...jumbled...can't make heads or tails what the heck they are talking about half the time and the other half you just scratch your head...

And what's with that living to be 900 years old? Give me a break!
