few realize that their depression may be caused by something other than what they think it is... some suggestions:.

there are many well-known depression triggers: trauma, grief, financial troubles, and unemployment are just a few.
I agree blondie, I too have thought the same thing..does the religion cause the depression or are they drawn to the religion because of their depression..I have often thought that the religion attracts certain kinds of people..

Quote from article:
Spending too much time in chat rooms and on social-networking sites? A number of studies now suggest that this can be associated with depression, particularly in teens and preteens. Internet addicts may struggle with real-life human interaction and a lack of companionship, and they may have an unrealistic view of the world. Some experts even call it "Facebook depression."
In a 2010 study, researchers found that about 1.2% of people ages 16 to 51 spent an inordinate amount of time online, and that they had a higher rate of moderate to severe depression. However, the researchers noted that it is not clear if Internet overuse leads to depression or if depressed people are more likely to use the Internet. (end of quote)
in the typical do as we say , not as we do type mentality - the wt society puts forth in this current wt study article ( jw's only wt ) - that it's not " advisable " or " reasonable " for jehovah's witnesses to seek entering their own business ventures , or further themselves by getting a college education, or even have a career - due to the imminent coming of the alleged " end of the system " or alleged " paradise " .
the guilt and control used here is ridiculous.
in the article titled , " why put jehovah's service first ?
I saw someone talking about how some religions actually help people..yes they do but it comes at a great price. They rip people off in the name of charity/religions and give very little of it to the people..
As far as the article goes..they want to keep their people ignorant. That way they can't/won't be questioned or challanged on their teachings..
With the computer age I think they may be losing a lot of members that are getting wise to their lies/ false predictions..
Probably a scary time for them..
The more scared they get the more they will try to isolate their people..keeping them away from computers..their no JW relatives/friends and keeping them in low scale jobs so the only hope they have for a future is the WTBTS's promise of a lovely new paradise if they remain faithful to their religion and forsake all others..
Same old story...been there done that..fool me once shame on you , fool me twice shame on me as they say

as some of you may recall, on february 11, 2011 the united states court of appeals ruled that most gated communities in puerto rico violated the constitutional rights of jehovahs witnesses by not allowing them unobstructed access to homes and thereby thwarting their right to worship freely.
not sure how the watchtower was able to fool the us court of appeals, but there you have it... the next step in this judicial process is to determine how this needed to happen.. to that end, the us court of appeals has recently ruled that those gated communities in puerto rico that didnt have security guards (i.e.
: have a tele-entry key pad instead) were to hire at least one security guard who would be positioned at the entrance for the purpose of allowing jehovahs witnesses free access to the community.
They can't get me here because I have a security door at the entrance of the building..they have to request entry and no one will let them in..:) so they usually park outside in the lot on Sat. mornings till some poor sap comes out of the building and then they attack them..
How pathetic is that..
I can't believe they get away with that in Puerto Rico..
My thoughts..
My daughter has a security gate at the entrance of their community but they have a service entry that isn't gated..the JW's come in that way..

i'm just curious as i'm on the outside looking in when it comes to relationships, yet i recall undercover explaining to me a year or so ago on another thread how his wife was clingy one morning before he went to work.
it made me wonder as someone who's single, what do you feel when you need to be somewhere and your significant other is clingy at the moment?
or when your out and about and he/she is clingy, is it flattering, irritating?
I'm with Flipper..I have been through both and been both . Hubby and I took turns....when you are married as long as I was you go through many cycles..
I enjoyed most of them..
Except his going back to the KH cycle.. That sucked...

ps..I do have to admit I have seen unhealthy clingy..not a pretty sight. Most of the time it is the women that are "needy" ,"clingy"..at least that is what I have observed..

There are many well-known depression triggers: Trauma, grief, financial troubles, and unemployment are just a few. But if you are depressed and none of these apply to you, it can be hard to pinpoint a specific cause.
In truth, there may not be a concrete reason for your depression. But here are some little-known causes to consider.
Also, ways you can help someone that is depressed:

This was surprising to me but made sense: RE Facebook and other chat rooms etc..

my mother lives a plane trip away from me, so does not get to spend very much time with zac.
however, she is in sydney for 3 weeks and has been babysitting.
i knew that she would be talking about jehovah, but was very annoyed yesterday when zac said my mother was speaking all day about jehovah, such as how he made the stars.. in the past, i was not overly concerned if zac learnt about jehovah's witnesses, as i thought it would help with critical thinking skills to understand different points of view.
Good idea Sketter..I like it. Brainwash can work both ways.. I would do anything to protect my kids..I would also correct the child when they say "Jehovah" and say "you mean God?" It will catch on..And is it possible to block Skype for now?..
Just a reminder..my kids are in their 50's now. Been out for over 30 years..still occasionally have a bad dream about the "Paradise Book". I would in no way let her read that or any of their other so called "Children's" books to my child.
