  It's my birthday today and i did NOTHING.

  do you find that years after leaving the jws birthdays just don't matter?.

  i just can't get into it.

  in years past the inlaws have made an effort and given a little party but now we are out country its just not a big enough deal to be bothered with.. no presents, no cake.

  I think Lady Lee is doing her job. Looks like she did a lot of research. I do however think that starting out a paragraph with "What kind of scam are you running" may have been a little too harsh?

  I am sure it was posted on the board instead of an E mail was out of concern that you may try to contact the members in private and ask for funding.

  You also can't expect perfection on a Ex JW board as many have been hurt by the org and family mambers and come here to vent and hopefully a friendly pat on the back and a hug..they aren't concerned with surveys that may or may not get media attention. So you have to bear with them and not take it personal.

  I am glad you are doing something constructive and hope it works out. I have to admit I am a skeptic like Lady Lee but have seen lately where the media has been paying attention to what the ex JW's have to say.

  Best of luck in your survey and don't give up. You have to expect that some may not be as enthusiastic towards it as you may be..and may be skeptical. Fearing exposure is a valid concern of some here..you have to respect that.

  Also if the mods allow one person to ask for funding the board would slowly loose it's purpose..Many have complained about this in the past and may be the motive for Lady Lee's addressing the issue as she did.

  is it any wonder why so many turn a bad leaf when it comes to sexual morality in the jehovah's witness organization.

  I found it odd the way you picked the word pedophile for those scriptures instead of murderer..

  Snoozy..who finds titles like this offensive and disgusting..but that's just my opinion..

  as many of you know, i had a baby a few months ago.

  on babycentercommunity, a woman titled a thread "i don't believe in halloween".

  People can find fault in anything it they truly try. It is up to us to decide if we want to accept something or not. I myself see no wrong in Halloween or any of the other holidays..I don't take things to the extreme tho, like devil worshipping at halloween time..

  As a JW - Did you See Meetings Continue in Spite of Medical Emergencies?

  i was talking the other day with a fellow board member about medical emergencies occuring at meetings and how we both agreed that we ( while jw's ) had never seen a meeting stop or be cancelled due to medical emergencies experienced by a fellow jw.

  the wt society trains jw' s to lose their authentic human feelings or any empathy towards others physical or emotional sufferings many times.

  so many times at meetings , in spite of someone suffering a serious medical emergency it was " the show must go on " type of attitude displayed by congregation elders.. my first experience at seeing a medical emergency at the kingdom hall was an older sister who had an epileptic attack.

  Worse I saw was a sister wetting her self on stage..left a puddle in her chair.

  Does my son locking himself in the bathroom at age 5 and yelling loudly for "Mom" count? Oh yeah, I was in the middle of giving a talk. Afterwards the brother praised me for keeping my cool while they worked to get him out..

  Sister fell off the platform on a chair..asthma attack in a teen..

  Bout it..

  Oops, remembering the elderly that passed out while sitting in the hot sun at assemblies trying to prove they could take anything for Jehovah..

  What is Armageddon For?

  armageddon is a military exercise where the nations will be judged in the "valley of decision" for how they treated israel in regard to dividing that land.

  it is not to destroy the wicked as the wt teaches.

  the wicked are destroyed from the effects of adam in that all die.. i will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.
