yes, the latest watchtower is upon us.
it opens with a typically outlandish article on marriage.
here are a few of the headlines:.

my uncle was rushed to the hospital last tuesday with severe stomach pain.
(he was diagnosed with colon cancer one year ago.
the doctors, family, and my uncle decided against colon surgery.
First of all I am so sorry your Uncle is having to go through so much pain..I hope it goes easy for him. My heart goes out to you!
And I'm not surprised about the actions of the witnesses,..they only wanted to pray because so many were there (in my opinion) ..they like to put up a front. When my hubby was in hospital and got his 6 month to live speech from the doctors..the laison committee moved in..they came to visit but no one offered to say a prayer for my hubby..I am disassociated but not disfellowshipped. I had to ask them to say a prayer..they finally said a short one. Then when he was at home in his last days 2 witnesses (brothers) came to visit(their one visit) ..again no prayer..my hubby was in good standing just not as active as they would have liked in earlier days..they acted like it ws to late to pray as he was already dying..they actually looked at me like I was crazy when I asked them to say a prayer. He loved his religion and I thought it would give him strength to face his dying. If hubby wasn't so sick I would have liked to slap the silly right off their stupid faces..
No love lost on them..

.......... trust your mind !
" yes, they actually said this in a wt study article entitled, " do not look at the things behind " .
i swear the wt society writers and leaders are getting even more controlling and manipulative !
This could also apply to leaving the Jehovah Witness religion. They made us feel like we were nothing without them..how wrong they were/are!!!
Snoozy,
my mother has been working forwell over a year to have a gastric bypass and she finally got the ok from her doctor and insurance.
the date is set for this coming friday.
although, i'm not 100% sure this will happen because she was diagnosed with pneumonia and a partially collapsed lung this past week.
Noni, I have been following your reports..as you know hubby was a JW and when he was facing the blood issue he had me fill out all the paper work for the POA etc. He listed ME as the one to make decisions for him regarding his healthcare. I told hiim I couldn't guarantee that I would refuse blood for him if necessary to save him even for a little while. Even then he still appointed me rather than his JW mom or sister. I was shocked. I really think if he thought blood would have saved hiim he would have taken it. I really do!
If they had pulled that stuff with me in the hospital I would have taken it outside..not in front of hubby. I wouldn't make a scene in front of him..he had enough he was going thru (as did I). The JW's should show respect for any relatives, no matter what religion or standing in the org. if JW....
I know you are a strong person and care about your Mom..it sounds like she has been amazing and losing the weight is wonderful. I just watched them operating on a 500 pound woman on TV ..she lost so much weight they had to operate a few more times to remove the excess skin.
Has you mom filled out all the paper work that the JW's have? Who did she name as the person that would make the decisions of her healthcare in the hospital?..
Hubby had his but the hospital and Drs. kept losing the papers. They would look at the top paper on his chart but overlook the last pages where the directives were..They even asked what blood type he was one time..scared hiim to death...
Big hugs for you and your family..I bet you will be glad when this is all over..
Snoozy..
look up in the sky!
it's a bird, it's a plane...no, it's a jehovahs witness!!.
golden age aug 26 192 p.751 "...you may have wondered how accidents will be avoided in the kingdom, since we are told nothing will hurt or destroy.

Quote:
In another Golden Age they printed a "flight of fantasy" about the future on the subject of "Negative Gravitation." It was a speculative article on overcoming gravity by "negative gravity" which is a repelling force. The author said this was the newly discovered "radiant energy" or "radio-activity"! The following was said about how accidents could be avoided in the coming Golden Age with the use of a "negative gravity [radio-active?] device":
MANY have wondered how accidents would be avoided during Christ's kingdom, since we are told that nothing shall then hurt or destroy. Most accidents are due to gravitation and its effects. Falling from airplanes... etc., may be avoided by an individual negative gravity device.
Scientists tell us that there is enough atomic energy in a finger-nail to propel a battleship. The people of the future may carry a little of this energy around with them, and if they fall down an elevator shaft they can let themselves down easy. Then they can turn a little more on and go back up. ... No danger of falling down stairs then. [19] End of Quote...
It is showing a referral for [19] as 19. Ibid., March 24, 1926, p. 404
All I could find under 8-25-1926 was for Germs..aliuminum etc..quite funny actually..Wilson, F. L. "Fermentation and the Germ Theory." Golden Age Aug. 25, 1926 p. 749-754

QUEENIE and LISA and Mamie kitty do not abuse ourselves

Snoozy..
thw wts likes to play games with their statistics.
one interesting but truly tragic is the number of jwhovah's witnesses who commit suicie.. now i suspect that if a person commits suicide shortly before or after they are disfellowshipped then the elders would say that person wasn't a witness or that they had done something so terrible that they were too guilty to admit it and by their action of committing suicide they pretty much declared they were no longer a jw.. yup fancy talk to make sure any crap didn't fall on them.. so my question.. do you know of cases like this?
if so then can you answer a few more questions.. had this person been dfed or in real danger of being dfed or whatever the equivalent is if they were never baptized?.
A JW? Knew one that threatened but never did... I did know of a "worldly" person that shot his wife in the basement and made the kids watch..he served some years in jail and then got out, got custody of his kids and remarried..amazing legal system we have..
They lived next door to a witness..

i was having coffee at a starbucks located in a supermarket chain in one of the towns i work in my business .
while sitting there doing paperwork , what looked like 3 elders on their field service break sat at a table no more than 4 feet from me .
after eavesdropping it was obvious they were elders as they were talking about the c.o.
I hope they read it and not consider it "from the devil"..
I'm afraid I would open up and not stop..you did very well and a good example for others here..keep up the good work!.
Like you said, you never know..lol Didn't they teach us that?..
The last article I read about a JW child molestor and how he only got 20 months is still fuming in my mind!
