  Do you still debate with JWs?

  i was talking to an ex-jw.

  not been out as long as i have.. cut a long story short, i came to realise that i can no longer be bothered to debate jws if (on the rare occasion), i have encountered them.. i think that because i am somewhere circling a nihilistic atheist it seems pointless.

  i just don't have the energy because i rarely even think about jw related garbage.

  the thread about old timers got me thinking about trends i see with the watchtower.

  i've changed my opinion about where the organization stands.

  when i joined the religion in 1973 it was dynamic, even the small congregation i attended sent out three or four pioneers.

  Overrated

  Before covid hit I had two elders track me down and ask me what it would take to get me to "return to Gee-hober "? First off I informed them that I can't afford to be a JW. They would have to make me the soul only Governing Body- member with a six figure salary. Thanked them and told them to find another sucker. " Be on your away to the next victim. "

  Overrated

  With Watchtower 's rebranding efforts we will see alot of people awaking from this sleep that Watchtower created. Sure, more crazy videos and musical numbers all from Jw dot org. Soon and even now people see how ridiculous it is. Watchtower is in for a slow bleeding death.

  i sent a list of statements about current wts teachings to a friend who is being carefully recruited by a seasoned witness.. hi em..... just a quick summary of what all “good” jehovah's witnesses believe...even though some of these things witnesses are not always willing to be transparent about.

  What I Know now ,I wish I knew sooner. But I was born in this crap. After being away from it and seeing it for what it is( a waste of time) money maker for a Corp Real estate business hidden as group that serves god(it's self).

  I thinking of a Can Am as my mid life crisis vehicle. Which the wife would approve of all the safety. It's safe and cheap to operate. All pluses.

  i also was intrigued by the russellites and the break away sects that formed before and after charles taze russell.

  i can only imagine what the bible students were thinking when rutherford became the next watchtower president..

  Watchtower History is really interesting. Mostly made by two drunk, self-righteous who made up alot of stuff in the 1800 -1900's.

  What is your status (as of today) as a Jehovah's Witness?

  active believer...still attend meetings, go out in field service, believe it's ''the truth''.

  active non-believer... go to meetings and field service to please family... living a double life .

  inactive believer...don't attend meetings but believe it's the truth, one day might go back to kingdom hall.

  God Loves you. But if you're not a Jw you're dead meat. Such a loving god. And such a loving group who follow this crap.

  Why haven't they re-started the 'cart witnessing'?

  we are nearly 18 months into this pandemic and lot has been learned and our behaviour modified to make things safer for us, e.g.

  the wearing of face masks and social distancing.. many countries such as australia, new zealand, the uk and usa either have things under control or have vaccinated a large portion of the population.

  therefore, given the very passive nature of the 'cart witnessing', i can't see why this hasn't be re-started.

  Google Street view: Will I get disfellowshipped?

  yesterday, while having a smoke outside my house, i saw the google street view car drive by.

  so here i am, wondering when this picture will make it to the web and when a jw sees it.

  even if they blur the face, i bet it will be really easy to make out who's smokin' outside.
