Yes I do and frequently. It's been almost 10 years since I left. I often dream of being at an assembly or in the hall. I am watching but not actively participating in anything. I cant remember if I speak to anyone or if anyone speaks to me but I often wake up feeling panicked and depressed after the dreams.

MY LIFE Mary J Blige
Life can be only what you make it
When youre feelin down
You should never fake it
Say whats on your mind
And youll find in time
That all the negative energy
It would all cease
And youll be at peace with yourself
You wont really need no one else
Except for the man up above
Because hell give you love
(my life, my life, my life, my life)
If you looked into my life
<chorus>
<verse 2>
Take your time
Baby dont you rush a thing
Dont you know, I know
We all are struggling
I know it is hard
But we will get by
And if you dont believe in me
Just believe in he
Cause hell give you peace of mind
Yes he will
And youll see the sunshine
For real, yes you would
And youll get to free your mind
And things will turn out fine
Oh, I know that things will turn out fine
Yes they would, yes they would -

JW Children and the absence of Christmas
by Clam inive just collected my 6 year old son from school.

my youngster remarked "she doesnt believe in christmas.

that is the #1 thing about growing up in the borg that screws me up even to this day. I absolutely dreaded having to go to school and talking with non-JW relatives around the holidays. I hated being the outcast I hated sitting in the back of an empty auditorium and I hated not being able to accept my relatives invitations for Christmas dinner.

NYC people or those that have been there
by mariposa init appears we will be visiting nyc from about the 16th of dec. for a week or so.
we are going to see some long lost friends of my husband in queens and i'm sure they'll show us around, but there's also going to be alot of drinking and catching up between them and i'll have quite a bit of free time on my hands.
i don't know if we're going to stay with them or not, i've been checking on craigslist for an apt or something we could rent.

Forget about the car this time of year-----you'll spend all your time stuck in traffic and heaven help you if you park in the wrong spot. Faster than you can say metermaid your car will get towed and it will set you back $200 at the tow pound.
TAKE THE SUBWAY!!
I cannot stress that enough.

For those baptized as a JW/minor, how did you feel on your baptism day?
by Gopher ini was petrified that day.
i felt nervous and slightly sick that morning, so i couldn't even eat breakfast.. leading up to that baptism day ( i was only 16 ), i didn't want to tell anyone about it.
maybe because i came from a cold-hearted congregation where the other kids my age didn't like me (i was too serious), i didn't want anyone else to know.. i felt relief after the dunking was finally over.

How Jw's will begin to 'accept' blood doctrinally.
by AK - Jeff inonce upon a time, blood in any form was rejected by jw's.
then, over time, they morphed the policies to allow some 'fractions' or blood.
this allowed witnesses to get immunizations, treatments for hemophilia, etc.. in the past few years now, the policy is allowing greater 'definition' of 'fractions' - to the point where even bovine rbc's, altered to be called a 'fraction' now, due to processing the hemoglobin from the cells, for use.

This is pretty much what they have been doing for years now. It's incredibly stupid. It's like telling someone "you can't eat cheeseburgers, but it's ok to eat the bun, the meat and the cheese separately." When will these people finally realize that they belong to a CULT??

So who's the moron that called and said such a thing? Obviously this person didn't bother reading the forum rules. His/Her account should be deleted.

Laptop Advice
by Mysterious ini was hoping to get some feedback from those of you that have laptops.
i know what i need primarily in terms of system specs so i am more interested in feedback regarding brands.
if you have a laptop i would be interested to know the brand, whether you bought it new or used, how long the warranty was, if you had any issues with it during or after the warranty (and whether these resulted in you having to take it in or send it away for repairs), if you would buy it again, if you recommend the brand on the whole.. i am currently leaning towards toshiba having met a few people that had bad experiences with dell.

I have an HP pavilion dv2035 notebook pc Intel centrino duo processor 533 mhz 100GB hard drive, 5 in 1 digital card reader, integrated webcam and microphone. I use Time Warner wireless, seldom problems with connectivity. Cost: $1100 after 2 mail in rebates then $99 for extended warranty. It's really good.
