JT, you've given a great example. It IS the way you all say it is. There is NO Holy Spirit involved in the authority-picking position. The ONLY thing involved is, as zev said. BUSINESS. MONEY. that's about the extent of the billion dollar situation.

Seven, I'm happy you said what you did. I've been getting mail saying that I'm nothing but a failure, troublemaker, and from some others ,I've offended them. To all those whom I've offended, I'm truly sorry. To offend is not my intention. To help people think and see, is. I'll try my hardest to think and re-word before I post from now on, so as not to offend people. I'll practice that. And I do add humor to some of my posts, only because I know no other way to deal with teachings that I know people that I love live with everyday.

Did anyone happen to watch dateline last night? I was watching it and noticed a lot of simalarities to the JW... "relgion?" I'm not saying that JWs would go THAT far by any means. I was just amazed at some of what the leader taught, and how far the followers went. It was a very sad TRUE story. SOME of the simalarities to JWs shocked me.

I've kept up on the topic of blood transfusions and the "fractions" of blood that are acceptable ( according to god=f&ds ). I've read up on bloodless surgery too. Which I think is a great alternative, in health conditions where it will work. What I haven't been able to get any info on is what the f&ds's stance is on donating blood, seeing as how you need blood to be able to extract fractions from it. Does anyone have any iformation on what the "society's" recent and past stance on donating blood is? Does the society say it's biblical ( i.e. permissible by them ) to donate one's own blood in case the NEED ever arises that they need a blood fraction transfusion ?
any info would be helpful and much appreciated.

This thread is great! mommy, as you said, I'm happy to see it "resurrected" too. I'm not a newbie, but took some time off and missed it! I enjoyed it with the newbies and it was all worth printing!

the article tells us that a spiritual paradise is an environment that is pleasing to the eyes and soothing to the nerves, allowing one to enjoy peace with ones fellowman and with god.
we are told, however, that a spiritual paradise is not for everyone; it is found in association with jehovahs witnesses.

Jehovah will also overthrow the entire invisible organization of Satan the Devil with its hordes of demons. Those who have continued to feed at Satan's spiritual table, the table of demons, will be forced to attend a literal meal, no, not as partakers, but as the main course-to their destruction! -See Ezekiel 39:4; Revelation 19:17,18.. Only Jehovah's table will remain.. Those who are appreciatively feeding at it will be preserved and will be privileged to eat there for all time to come.

The article tells us “that a spiritual table of demons is a meal that is pleasing to the eyes, stomach, and soothing to the intestines and digestive system, allowing one to enjoy peace with eating one’s fellowman and with God”. We are told, however, that consuming demons at spiritual table of demons is not for everyone; partakers are found “in association with Jehovah’s Witnesses”. In case there should be any doubt, it later states “the spiritual table of demons exists in this very nonparadisaic world only because Jehovah’s Witnesses cultivate it” !!
To attain the chance to partake will require work., and working up an appetite. The article tells us that “knowledge of God is closely associated with the spritual table of demons”. It then asks “Can you see why associating with a community of individuals who strive to cultivate such qualities would indeed be like eating demons?” [Notice the use of the word LIKE consuming demons]
So what is necessary? The article tells us that “when we live clean, moral lives and do God’s will in other ways [notice the use of the word “other”], we help build the spiritual table of demons and we contribute to our own sick happiness”. Further “having a close relationship with Jehovah God-which is a crucial part of the cultivating the table of demons”.
Finally, it states “The existence of the spiritual table of demons in these ‘critical times hard to deal with’ is an evidence of the power of God and a token of what he can and will accomplish to serve in the future”.
There appears to be some circular reasoning here that goes something like this: How do we know there is a spiritual table of demons? Because there are people who say there is, and therefore we know that God is establishing a spiritual table of demons.
We need firstly to make clear that the expression “spiritual table of demons” is not in the Bible as such. It’s an expression that became popular by the organisation after the invention of the internet. prophecy and the failure of the Witnesses’ hopes of a literal earthwide paradise coming to and end in that year.
In 2001 the new study book entitled “Man’s Hunger for demons out of World Distress at Hand“ was released. I recall my mother-in-law (who at the time had been a long-serving zealous pioneer) remarking: “You watch. When they see their lies being exposed in the future, they’ll switch our attention to a substitute spiritual table of demons, to figuative table of demons”. etc...etc...etc.

I feel the same way about leaving my box open. I haven't got any hate mail with files to download though. The mail I got was someone saying I was a failure wasn't what I call "hate" mail. I think it was a kid. I'm glad you said what you did, for now I know what to look for! think we should put all the mail we get of that type on the board? addresses and all? that'd scare them, huh?

isn`t it strange that jw`s have such a problem with ex`s?
try as they might to hang their watchtower labels onto me, i just don`t seem to be the person that they think that i should be!.
i think that i`ve become far more honest than the average jw.

:While translator's of the bible did not wish to use the name Jehovah, read most eighteenth and nineteenth century religious books, and you realise that the name was in common usage throughout history. Only as religion itself has become less relevant to modern society has usage of the name declined. JW's have no monopoly on the name Jehovah.
the only small bit of hisory I've read on the name is that people were afraid to use the name. it was too sacred and so they were afraid to mispronounce it.
Maybe the Jehovah's Witnesses have no monopoly on the name, but the WBTS has certain MADE a monopoly USING the name.
Personally, I agree with Englishman. Lord God is a term I am far more comfortable with. At the same time I will use the name Jehovah when I feel it appropriate to the discussion. I will not let the WT control my speech any more, even if my throat sticks a bit!
:On a lighter note, you could try watching Monty Python's "Life of Brian" over and over again. (He said Jehovah!..He said Jehovah!...)
I gotta watch that. I've watched "The Holy Grail" and "And Now For Something Completely Different". I'll make "Life Of Brian" my next. :-)
