I would not automatically vote "guilty" just because the accused was a JW. After hearing all the testimony of both the victim and the accused, and evidence, I'd have to feel the accused was guilty, or innocent, without a doubt before I came to my decision.

You can even find a lot of information on religions and cults in your local public library. Only you can make your decisions. I noticed that exodus never carried on in secret as an apostate critic of God, but rather, of the "watchtower" as you said. I don't want to take away from exodus's topic here, but I'm interested in hearing how it is possible to serve 2 masters and not have a mental breakdown such as exodus had. I understand and I'm sure you do too, as to why when someone has doubts about the "watchtower", they have to have the doubts in secret. exodus already showed us all the hate that is shown to those who have doubts about the "watchtower" if it is found out. Fortunaletly, the "watchtower" isn't God.

If you are asking about religious faith, I believe that faith is belief and trust in God. But one improtant thing was said by joelbear when he said:
As with all things, with faith there is a balance.
I believe him because I've seen Christians that have faith in God have NO balance and their views were so out of touch with reality that I thought they were using God as a crutch. Just for an example, I knew a woman years ago who charged all her credit cards to the max and then when she realized she could not keep up with the payments, she said that the Lord would take care of all of it and would get her out of debt somehow because the Lord never gives people a burden heavier than they can carry. She had no balance whatsoever and my telling her that the Lord didn't put that burden on her, she put it on herself did no good.
Faith has more than one meaning.

I think that was the year the Natick assembly hall was brandy new. I remember all the talk about the comfortable seats and that it was air-conditioned! And I have say..the seats sure were comfortable, which is a bad thing if you're trying to stay awake for hours to listen to babble.

I'm so glad there where people to help you and that your wife stood by your through all your mental anguish and trying times. I'm even more glad that you and your family have been been set free.
As thinker said, you have a conscience and it seems that people who have a conscience don't make could cult members. Sooner or later they get treated just as you did for having a heart and being a loving person.
