just a quick note to tell you that the picture you have on your profile is making anyone who opens this and any other thread you post ins A drive get searched. You have to put your picture on a web page and use that url. "A:" should not be in the url. Not only that but nobody can see your picture except for you if you don't. We all see the red X. Don't know if anyone else has said anything to you about it yet.

Be happy that at least you know you were violated and you can begin heal from here.
I'm sorry that your wife treats it as a personal attack when you try to talk to her about the inner turmoil you are suffering. But keep in mind that you have tried and tried to talk to her and show her. Although it's frustrating and painful, you just can't make anyone listen or look if they don't want to or just won't. I have watched you come to the point you are right now, along with everyone here on the board, over the past 7 or 8 months. I could see that you were suffering and it was even effecting your phsysical health.
Although I'm scared for what price you might pay, you can't go on forever as you have been. so I say...
Go for it! You'll feel a great release by letting go of this and getting it all off your chest.

i'm doing some interesting research on the procedure of reinstatement back into the org.. if anyone here can relate how many months/years passed by from the time you got df'd, till the time you got reinstated, it would be very helpful.
also include how often elders met with you, if you attended meetings regularly during the time you were df'd, and if you approached the elders for reinstatement(and how many times you approached them), or they approached you.

That letter is amazing. I'll look up all the scriptures in the letter today and get back to you with my thoughts. I can't help but laugh at the "Will You Imitate God's Mercy" bit though.
Haereticus lived for about 21 years without hearing anything at all from the elders. Once they started a campain which was probably ordered by the society, he suddenley heard from them. Really now, where were they when he needed to hear as much as a warm word? And I find it odd that the end is supposedly "soon" and elders are told only visit Df'd ones once a year. And if they do that much, it's because they are TOLD to by the society! Not because they care. If the society really cared about it's followers' lives, then it would tell it's members that hey, the end is near.....forget about placing liturature and collecting money.....get out there and save all those who were handed over to satan by the elders....get out there and save them now while there is still time!

my kid sister (42 years-old) is still in good standing (i guess) but is very inactive -- hasn't been to a meeting in years.
however, she's very supportive of the organization and dislikes any negative information i pass along to her about the society, so i don't.. recently, an email dialog we've had on a topic not related to the society has led her to the slightly unnerving realization that jusssst maybe she hasn't been told the whole truth about 'the truth.
' since years ago i gave her my personal copy of crisis of conscience with zero positive affect (not only did she not read a single page but destroyed it), i am still reluctant to help her out of the current mists of her confusion and ignorance.

They want to believe only what comes from a certain source and makes (keeps) them mentally comfortable. Anything that upsets that personal comfort level -- even if it's absolutely true -- is likely to be rejected and the one bringing it demonized.
You thought right. I found the same with 97% of the JWs I've talked to online in the past 3 years.

It doesn't help when the wbts print articles that begin with the words,"A View From a Higher Source". JW's believe that the "society" is the "higher source" and that the society is equal to Jehovah God himself. At the same time, they say that they don't idol worship in any form.

i have some thoughts on letters written to jws about problems in the organization.
it seems to me that many letters that i have read here are way to long and to fully docuemented.

I agree with your points on letter writing. I understand WHY people include documentation though too. I think it is possible to include "some" documentation without going overboard. And I think you are correct in thinking that the typical witness will see the size of the letter and shut down. So all the points you noted were great ones, and very useful. Especially number 1. If your advice is taken, then there is a big chance that whoever is reading it will continue and finish reading it. Also,if someone is going to write to an elder, I'd suggest sending it to his home address because they have a better chance of the elder reading it and checking references when he is alone.
