First of all let me just state that I'm not fond of cats so therefore would be umcomfortable if I had to share a home with one ( let alone MORE than one! )

I'd say he had a bad day at the office without ever asking him and give the cat to someone who likes cats. And then I'd tell him that it's time he thinks about updated his resume and sent it out, while I got him supper and something to drink.

A Midlife Crisis?

we moved to a new area, bought a house in the country to be closer to cc's office.

i left a good business *hair stylist and make-up artist*.

i haven't worked in about 2 years.

If anyone understands what you are feeling, I do!

I've ALWAYS felt that my home is my comfort zone and I was always happy to be home. I always felt as if I was busy and fine just to stay home and cook and clean the house to make it just as comfortable for my family who saw it as "home" too. I wish I could just stay at home all the time. My home is were I'm the happiest. But I also feel guilt if I'm only giving my all personally and not financialy to it. If it were possible to stay at home and do all the work it takes to keep a home a home, and to do it guilt free, my life would be perfect. Not because I don't want to go into the outside world and and work. But just because I would not have to deal with the stress that goes along with outside work. I guess that's what the physical time outside/money compensates for.

I don't need the compensation. But at the same time, without the compensation comes the guilt.

Sometimes I wish I were living back in the 40s/50s. Not because I disagree with women's liberation, but because now it's a guilt trip and there seems to be no liberation. If a woman wants to stay at home and be a "homemaker" as the word goes, she's viewed as "lazy".

That is why you feel guilty for being yourself and wanting to just stay at home and make home a comfortable place to be for yourself and CC.

Can you try and explain the principle/agent relationship a little more for those of us like me to understand?

As in regards to publishers being "agents" too? I don't understand how the WBTS can be a "legal agent" for publishers/JWs to use, but yet they can't use them LEGALLY.

Meanwhile,

can you refresh my memory as to the Vicky Boer case so I can understnad more? In e-mail if it's too much here on the board?

Condolences to Jayson..

jayson's (also known here as iwasyoungonce) step-mother passed away last night.

he is now travelling, a 6 hour drive, and will be back with us in a few days.

jayson, our thoughts and prayers are with you my friend!

Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss too, Iwasyoungonce.

And please keep all your memories of your step-mom alive in your memories. The good memories along with the not-so-good.

I have a step-mom and hold her dearly to my heart, faults and all, as I do everyone else who make and have made impressions in my life.

My prayers and thoughts are with you.

An Apology

have you ever done something so imbarrasing that you can't make yourself look back or even think about the deed for a very long time?.

several months ago, i had a real bad day.

i was very bummed about my life and the losses i felt due to my jw experience.

And that's not mentioning letters she should write PLEAING for reinstatement! And we should let her know that we will ignore the first 2? Should we ignore her till she begs via at LEAST 2 letters and 6 months go by?

Great name!

The fact that you feel bad for what you think was inappropriate and are now appoligizing speaks volumes about who you are.

I would not feel bad anymore ,nor rack myself with guilt now if I were you. All of us here are the same! We are ALL imperfect humans and we've ALL done and said things that we felt bad about. So in reality, we ALL are you, in one way or another.

I glanced at it again and I don't think it was a representative of the society, but maybe and elder. I'll have to read the whole thing over again, but either way, I'm sure you can see what I see, considering what you've been through.

I thank you for you input and sharing your experience.

I DO care about elders in the JW congregations. The "society" doesn't. Not one iota as you saw firsthand. I'm SO glad you said what you did because I don't believe elders really "see" what they are taking on. They are taking on a responsibility that the "society" led them to believe was a "privilege from Jehovah". If that were true, then the "society", with their multi millions of dollars would stand up and LEGALLY help their own with the LEGAL expenses they have to pay for lawyers and their LEGAL expenses. Seems to me that they instruct elders to follow the Flock book but if elders get sued for following it, they LEGALLY want nothing to do with the elders who followed it!

My heart truly goes out to elders who don't know any better. They end up paying such a dear price both mentally and financially...which effects them physicaly. The Society NOR the faithful and discreet slave are NOWHERE to be found when elders are in dire need spiritually when these TRUE things happen either. They want NO part of them when lawsuits happen. As a matter of FACT, the society will go as far as to send representatives to court to say that they have "no special relationship" with JWs that make up their congregations! I'll find the proof of that and I'll be back to post it here.
