  wt 2013 11/15 p. 20. at that time, the life-saving direction that we receive from jehovah’s organization may not appear practical from a human standpoint.

  all of us must be ready to obey any instructions we may receive, whether these appear sound from a strategic or human standpoint or not.. wt feb 2017.

  How does the above statement fit in with all the current and future planned radical changes?

  Have the watchtower ditched the 'life saving direction' stuff? Or are all these new changes part of their 'life saving direction'??

  Will New Rules Bring JWs Together or Pull Them Apart?

  there's been a lot of discussion about the changes in the org.

  you might think all this would shake things up, especially for the older or super dedicated jws.

  but remember when gb decided all the khs and the bank accounts needed to be transferred/managed from the top?

  I am interested in the possibility of relaxing the rules on birthdays, but I hadn't heard about that before this thread.

  Could they really be considering doing that?

  Who really is the Faithful and Discreet Slave? The recent changes and the Governing Body's 10 year plan

  i am sure we were all shocked at the governing body update #2 with the unusual and impulsive changes set forth.. i am an insider at whq, and when i was on reddit and in communication with avoidjw i explained to the best of my ability that the approach on disfellowshipping was going to change based on the new light at the 2023 agm, that the jubilee rumor was false, and there were going to be changes on how jws approached disfellowshipping in response to the norway situation if it didn't turn out in watchtower's favor.

  the decision came because of a legal blow to watchtower, not because "holy spirit" wad directing a faithful slave, who is going to become the "evil slave", more explanation on this soon.. everything i stated came true.

  i left reddit exjw community due to the immature and mentally unstable nature there, and yet as has been the case my words came true.

  All they expect is absolute obedience and quickly readjusting to changes without question.

  New light on shunning?

  one theory why tony was booted out was because he was a stickler for not changing the shunning doctrine.

  he actually said the words we will never ever change it.. they are slowly deleting all of tony’s videos and now losing court cases and losing government hand outs in places like norway.. it’s looking very likely they will release new light on shunning policy after losing this latest one in norway.. .

  what are the odds they coincidentally get new light from jehovah and lighten up their shunning policy ?.

  I seem to remember that before 1980/81 people who dissociated were not treated like disfellowshipped ones??

  Then there was an announcement around 1980/81 that we were to treat disfellowshipped and disassociated ones both the same...

  The pre 1980/81 years seem like much simpler times if you wanted to leave the watchtower voluntarily without recrimination and shunning...

  GB Update #2, March 2024: Women allowed to wear pants, no ties/coats required if not giving a talk, & now able to greet DF ones in the KH!

  you heard me correct, this is not a joke, and it is not april fools day!

  the asl portion of the governing body updated #2 (march 2024) has been released a bit early and someone caught it.

  the actual changes to a DF person is small.

  I've been disfellowshipped.

  Walking into a strange hall were no one spoke to me at all for over 12 months to try and get reinstated was a huge emotional battle at every single meeting I attended.

  People being able to acknowledge/say a warm greeting to me would have made a massive difference to me back then...

  There are many many MANY elders out there who get their “jollies” from being the “tough guys”, who view themselves as champions, protectors, guardians of moral sanctity and the chaste pureness of “Jehovah’s congregation”. Now they’re going to be chasing after DF’ed people after a few months and begging them to return? Nope I can’t see it.

  One elder I have known for years said his congregation is totally made up of hardliners with himself getting bullied/shouted down at every single elders meeting.
