Retirement
by jehovaxx inthe difference is now blatantly obvious, older ones who went against direction of the gb and planned for retirement have relatively more comfortable lives.. those who trusted and followed gb direction never got further education or training, pioneered or spent most of their lives knocking on doors for free, making just enough to get by in a part time job.. if you followed direction from the gb then you thought the end was just around the corner so no need to plan for retirement.. now these ones have indeed got old which they were given the impression they never would.
they are a burden on others.
the state has to pay for them in their old age.

When you mention proverbs 6:6-8 I hear that scripture applied to working hard for Jehovah. It just shows how you can make the Bible say almost whatever you want.
The GB often twist scripture or part quote it and then give a long explanation why it means what they want it to mean.
I don’t know where they get the idea that further education and getting a good job is unscriptural?

JWLITE
by Teddnzo ineven elders can be part of the new jw lite brigade these days.
they don’t need to go on door to door anymore and there is no requirement for anything really.. taking meeting parts is all dead easy you could turn up on the day with zero preparation because it’s all in the meeting workbook.. quarterly elders meetings are just old men having a good old natter just like old men do down the pub.. congregations could be likened to pubs or bars these days just without the drinks, those come at other times.. no need for territory maps, these almost went away with covid letter writing now they are extremely slow getting finished as those who still go door to door only do ten mins.. you could even voice your questions these days about things the gb say and then just say “we can’t be dogmatic we just don’t know”.
i predict they will say this about 1914 soon..

Vidiot it’s a very good thing to pick and choose what makes sense to you. Full unsubscribing is not inevitable at all. A lot of us love the idea of the Bibles promises have some form of truth to them.
Personally I have hope that the Bible is Gods word and even though we don’t really understand it all, perhaps the hope of something better is better than no hope at all.
The GB are clearly wrong about much if not almost everything. But the hope the Bible promises may have to truth to it, or maybe not at all. I’m comfortable in not knowing.

Just had a thought…
by Vidiot ini been reading quite a few experiences on reddit lately, and their seems to be a common theme coming up….
…dialed-up-to-eleven shunning of xjws by their witness relatives.. it reminds me of back in the day, listening to some of the over-the-top vitriol displayed by hard-core loyalists when the topic of evolution or apostates came up….
…i was gobsmacked when i finally realized these guys weren’t offended and indignant because they thought it was lies….

Yes when you
sre fully indoctrinated you never even think about looking at something that realistically challenges what you have been told to be true.
it’s a good lesson for everyone to reexamine everything

New Study: Mars Once Was Completely Covered in Oceans
by Sea Breeze in"the new study indicates that the oceans that covered the entire planet in water were at least 300 metres deep.
they may have been up to one kilometre deep.".
yet, some secularists say they are sure that the earth was never completely flooded with water above the tops of mountains as described in genesis.

They lie about Mars, they did not put a rover on the planet 12 yrs ago. All the pictures are lies, they are all taken on Earth.

It is a good question how far you can go questioning the GBs direction without being accused of causing division? I think the answer is pretty far if it’s done the correct way.
You would be perfectly fine quoting the AGM 2023 that “the GB are not inspired and not infallible. So maybe they made a mistake saying the vaccines were from Jehovah and maybe they were wrong when they said would Jehovah help all his full time servants get fully vaccinated if they were not safe?”
You could even voice your concerns that maybe the direction was wrong to not go for further education and get better job? Maybe the GB got it wrong when they said millions now living will never die. Maybe our generation will grow old in this system and that would mean the GB got it wrong.
Notice I keep saying maybe and not definitely. Then you could not get accused of causing division.
You could say maybe the GB are wrong about 1914. But always say something nice about them in the end, well they are just imperfect brothers and they have admitted they are not inspired and they do get things wrong. They are doing their best.
what would happen if a number of people openly spoke this way? It really is happening in circles that Zo and I are in. Sometimes we go even further than this with the right ones.
but some say to us “well yes maybe we are not correct about the 1914 thing, but it’s still the truth.”
I think there will be the regular JWLITE and then the even more lighter version of JWLITE we’re ones don’t think it is the truth at all, but just about stay physically in and completely mentally out.

Lots of things that used to be red flags are pretty much a given now. Things have changed so much lately. DVD collection music collections can display things that when I was growing up could never have gotten away with.
The ministry is so much easier or practically non existent these days. Even the hard liners just do ten mins then coffee break. Most don’t even do the ten mins.
So the entire organisation is slowly turning to JW Lite, in a stealth way. Zoom changed everything. It always used to be the ‘can you do even more approach’ Now the approach is that Jehovah wants us to be happy and have joy so let’s just have coffee break after ten mins. Let’s stay on zoom every other meeting.

There are a lot of assembly items and parts in the meetings lately about living cheaply and being good with money.
We had that watchtower the other day all about keeping your eye simple and just meeting your needs. They made a big deal about the difference between wants and needs.
Basically they know that long time JWs who made sacrifices to follow direction will be struggling in retirement.
the only answer they come up with is that the congregation should look after them. But the entire congregation is also struggling.
will they change the direction and say ok it is wise to think about retirement?

Nobody else understands
by ElderBerry inif you once were fully pimi and truly believed jw doctrine to the core like i once did, when you come to the reality that it is not the truth at all it can be extremely devastating.. i think only other ex jws could ever understand.
i wasted my entire life i thought the real life was yet to come to wasted the best years knocking on doors.
now i’m so angry.. i can understand why so many top themselves when they realise it was all lies..

“After realising that , you’re not going to live forever and you only have the allotted 70 years or so, and that you have already wasted most of it .”
Bluesbrother makes me think really deeply about that. This is a question to anyone- If you had the option of taking the Blue pill now and genuinely believing in the Bibles promises again, would you be more happy?
I’m not asking would you chose that I’m asking would you be more happy than taking the red pill?
In my case I was more happy believing than I am now I don’t believe

My family is mentally out but don’t want to lose life long friends and family who are still in.
We are staying JWLITE and hope that others will join us without ever being able to be accused of causing divisions
