Some of these brought tears to my eyes. I read on almost reliving how cold-hearted my father was/is to me. My mother I still have hope for her. She was, is and always has been a very warm person which is probably why I turned out a bit better that I should have. I work on her everyday in the hopes that she can break her chains as well.
When I think of my father one example comes to mind. I remember me and him in an argument over something and I was clearly upset and was crying. All my father could do was look at me and say "why do you have to get so emotional". This must have happened when I was 13 or 14 and I remember it so clearly because of the impact it had. I vowed never to be like that to my children but I have noticed that sometimes I have a tendency to become unattached. But knowing this I have the ability to overcome it and be a loving and great parent when the time is right.

It truly is a shame....
OTOH If thats the way my sis feels then maybe she shouldn't have kids and put them through the horrors of being a dub.
If she ends up having kids I will do my duty as Aunty to counter her attempts. That way they will at least know that not everyone will turn your backs if you decide to form your own opinions.

A "customer" pulls in and my mother quietly whispers to me "Isn't that so-n-so's dad (a dub girl I went to school with). I tell her I remember the girl but have no idea if its her father and tell my mom to ask. She does and sure enough they get talking about dub things as most tend to do. He tells her that his daughter (the one I went to school with) was married for 3 years to the son of a dub that wasn't in the troof. He said this with a heavy sigh. My mom tell him how my sis has been married for 5 years and still doesn't have kids. She then goes on to say that my sister doesnt' really want to have children because "they may grow up out of the troof".
When she said that I about gagged. It was totally disgusting. I have heard about not starting families due to Armageddon but never because of what may happen 20 years down the line.
Geez its like shunning before a child is even born.
Has any one else ever heard of something similiar.

LOL guys......I knew that much....
The busier they keep the congregation the less they are to think about the actual doctrine.
I was wondering if anyone knows if they have ever addressed it in a publication. Would be neat to see what they say about it.
Makes me mad to know that good people (ie my mother) actually believe they enjoy wasting all their time. I swear she never has any time to do anything for herself between the dubs and work.
Any ideas on the KH question??????
