  thats easy....

  I would have started learning guitar in my teen years.

  Not that its too late now but the extra years I feel would have benefitted me.

  ok. i am thinking of trying this to maybe get my family to start questioning things.. here's what i want to do.

  i want to get one of the ray franz books and casually leave it available for them to pick up.

  my mother is not that bright to where she may think its something my dad brought home and open it up.

  Ok. I am thinking of trying this to maybe get my family to start questioning things.

  Here's what I want to do. I want to get one of the Ray Franz books and casually leave it available for them to pick up. My mother is not that bright to where she may think its something my dad brought home and open it up. She is very nosy and I think the curiosity would get the better of it. My dad is a bit smarter but he also wasn't raised as a JW (he was born Catholic) and therefore he might not be in such a grip as he could be. He does go out inservice but not very often, and has only held one position, a MS, and only for a short time and it was several years ago. Not to mention he loves to read.

  I would also like to try this on my sister when I visit her in August. (she likes to read all sorts of things to stay informed and may just pick up the book)

  Do you think this might work? Has anyone here tried anything like this? If so what was the outcome?

  And since I have not read either book by Ray Franz....which would be the better one to use?

  Or is this just a bad idea altogether.

  I would appreciate any input in this as I feel that if I was able to get one questioning it..the others would follow.

  Interested in running the Watchtower Observer?

  after reading all the comments about the watchtower observer, and knowing the amount of traffic the site is generating, i have come to the decition it would be a shame to let the site itself go down in flames.

  so, here is the deal: .

  im interested in someone who is willing to run the watchtower observer, and by that im talking about taking over the observer.org domain!

  hey guys, i know you are probably sick of me coming and going, but i just can't stay away.

  every time i talk to jws about my problem, they tell me i need to study more and stay away from here.

  but i just can't stay away...i'm interested in things said here, the openness things are discussed.

  I don't think you'll do that here. Too many of us have been in that undecided state to pass any kind of judgement on those still finding what they believe. I for one think its admirable that you are willing to let them try to prove themselves. I know I wouldn't be able to give them the same courtesy myself.

  As far as the children situation goes....I think your wife is right on that account. Just think of what might happen if you have kids and then you leave. They will be torn between you and their mother. Also if you hold to your convictions and give both sides a chance ...she may come around...who knows it could happen.

  Any ex-annointed ones here or know of any?

  in all seriousness, i would like to know from anybody in this forum if anybody on here had ever experienced such an "annointing".

  even though i do not believe in the tower and its teachings for a couple of years now, i would always question the supposed "feelings" an "annointed" person was suupposed to have.

  in light of younger people claiming to be of this "annointed class" in recent years, i question their motive and all of those that were older which were most likely "annointed'".. thanks

  I've always wondered but they would do if a visitor partook. I mean would they kick me out if I slammed that glass of wine as it came to me.

  (of coarse I have heard that its not very tasty but I still wonder what the consequences would be)

  Anybody know of anything like that happening...and what the elders did about it?
