there are some that are obvious and then others that just baffle me to no end..... yes i am talking about your user names.... do any of you have stories behind them or are they significant for some reason or are they just a word you made up?.

mine...well its easy.... i got the nickname of spicy back in nov of last year when i dyed my hair this crazy red color and the name of the color was "spiced ginger".

the rest of it is because i love to make things more interesting---- sorta of like adding a bit of spice to the stew (hopefully i come across as that as well .

I have to agree with SYN-----

you are definately a closet apostate..I think you should stick around.

After all dont you want meaningful debate with people that actually think for themselves (inst that why you are here in the first place)....whereas if you go to the official JW site..all you will get is the same dribble that you can get by going to the meetings....

BTW--- the reason some use the bold and larger lettering is so that others can actually read what they post....there are some posts that I have to squint to see because they are soo tiny. Please dont let the fonts drive you away.

today at work, i had pulled open my top drawer of a 5drawer filing cabinet.

sitting in my chair it's right about forehead height.

i just got my cat neutered..... i know its the responsible thing to do...but i still feel horrible about it!.

RHW----I ageree....all the cats I have ever had...I have had an incredible bond with....they follow me to no end. Cats are definately animals that I feel choose their owners....if they dont like them they move on.

For the record----- I am a huge animal lover. I cannot stand to see animals caged, abused, slaughtered and in fact this thread is giving me part of the strength to go completely vegetarian (right now I dont eat red meat or fish). That is why I even started the thread---because I felt bad but in the long run I knew/know it will be better for Onyx. Funnie part is that I was telling a friend that my cat was having surgery....they looked concernd and I told them that it was a neutering and they wanted to laugh it off as not that big of a deal. This kinda upset me as yes it is a big deal. Anyway, my cat is extremely well-loved and cared for and thats the way HE likes it. He tells me when he wants attention (as most cats owners will attest to) and he tells me what he needs when he needs and I dont hesitate to give it to him. We communicate and he understands everyword I say. How else can you explain that he is waiting by the door for me right around the time I get home from work---its because I tell him.

OK---enough of my rant as I know noone is even challenging that I love my cat but I felt I needed to say it nonetheless.

PS----what about dogs---most of them cannot fend for themselves without an owner---any thoughts

Will religion ever be banned?

i was asking because look at all the problems religion are causing :september 11,middle east crisis,waco disaster,clashes in ireland,paedophiles priests,suicide bombings,papal system etc.but think if masses of people protested it my not ban religion completely,but it could make a start to banning it.but the trouble again is that a lot of people want religion even if it is full of @*~t,yeh and why is it that people know theres problems in there religion but wont take a stand,why are religious people are such cowards to the truth.saying that though if i managed to get say jws banned from preaching i would be fulfilling bible prophecy mmm how cool lol

With that said, Christianity, including the Catholic Church, is based upon the Ressurrection of Jesus Christ

BYW--I once dated a guy that was clinically dead for a few minutes.....umm I guess that would mean the doctors in our time brought him back to life.

So the whole resurrection thing holds no water IMO.

To think that we are the only age in man's history to be "enlightened" is not factual and highly arrogant

Yes we are in the most enlightened era ever. Just in the past 100 years look at all the MAJOR accoplisments in the scientific community.

You talk about other eras saying they were enlightened..and yes I am sure they thought they were but LOOK around at what we have done in a very short time. We have created electricity, many ways of transpotation and communication, computers, space travel, and cloning just to name a few. I have heard they are even working on a crude version of a transporter (FYI-watch Star Trek if you dont know what that is). You go ahead and tell me that we are not living in one of the most enlightening and exciting times. We are on the verge of so many capabilities and to think we are not is in itself arrogant IMHO.

It is a new century and millenium not to mention that regarding the placement of the planets we are going to search for higher meanings. It IS the new generation and we will form the new way of thinking. It is happening already. All you have to do is OPEN your eyes and take a look around.

To clarify what I said (even though I thought it was obvious) I never said that religion would cease to exist......merely the way we practice it.
