  it's been awhile since i wrote, but i've been crazy busy with school work!.

  The stars were made immediately for the purpose to light up our night sky. Scientist are brainwashed into believing how the speed of light works.

  This is the most funniest thing I've heard all week!

  Do they have electricity in their house? Don't they realize that electricity travels at the speed of light. How does their TV work? How does their computer run? Or do all of the fixtures in their house just run ... very ... very ... sloooooow?

  Actually, this could be a localized phenomenon at their house, kind of like near a black hole, which would explain why they are such dim bulbs! LOL!

  so many things come to mind to show how silly jws sound in reality.

  for example, being allowed to pass the microphones is a big deal, especially to a young brother.

  or being given the "privilege" of cutting the grass or working on a "quick-build" is really something special to a jw.

  i was brought up as a witness since 1971 in my heart i never trully belived but always wanted to please my parants and peers when i got married and had children i stopped going about 10 years ago before this i had suffered with depression and self loathing.

  so many things come to mind to show how silly jws sound in reality.

  Yeah, that was one of the reasons I mentioned crossdressing. Also for women wearing slacks. I remember how bent out of shape they got back in the 60's when pant suits came out. Also, during the bra burning era, that was a big commotion too. I think it is still a big no-no for women not to wear bras or nylons. Men wearing earrings. Women wearing a tie (back in the 80's it was the style for a while). Men with hair over their ears.

  The have definite ideas of what constitutes male and female and it is a world crisis when anyone transgresses against those mores.

  Something really creepy happened after reading the REQUIRE brochure

  my fiancee's sister was visiting - she was here on business and yes she is a jw.

  she was talking to me about answering some questions i first posed to her about the cult.

  she goes in her bag, where i guess she keeps all those tracts, and pull out the "what does god require of us" brochure.. she was trying to prove to me there was no heaven for all believers, but preached this paradise earth stuff to me.

  Especially since Jehovah gave me visual sign and made it sooooo, very plain to me that he is calling! He's calling!! Hello!!!

  No, He didn't. It was your sister who answered the door, not you. You were napping. If it was a sign and it was meant for you, then they should have rung the bell before you went into the bedroom for your nap. If it was a sign, as your sister seems to think, then obviously Jehovah is trying to tell her something!

  I wrote them a short letter long before they ever thought about contacting me about anything. I told them I didn't want to be known as a JW any more. For me it was important to divorce myself from them, and sever the connection between me and their hogwash totally. It was an important step in establishing my independence and my new life.

  I also wrote long letters to my family and explained my decision and the reasons for it.

  This is probably the wrong approach for most people, however, since my family did not take it well at all. If I had it to do over again, though, I would do the same. It was the right thing for me and it sent a strong message to my family about how I felt about their religion, and how differently I felt about them. They just couldn't separate the two, and could not understand that my rejection of their god was a completely different thing from the affection that I felt for them.
