One interesting revelation was that Jar Jar Binks is directly responsible for the Evil Empire!!! Kind of stupid for the queen/senator to leave her authority in his hands methinks!!! Thanks, Jar Jar, for proposing martial law under Darth Sidious!!! No wonder we hate the bastard; he's not just annoying - he's the root of all evil!!!!!!

WT Speaks Out On Apostasy
by stevieb1 inthe following quote is taken from the september 15, 2002 edition of the watchtower, p.16-18:.
"in the first century, such individuals as hymanaeus, alexander, and philetus, were advocating ideas that did not fit "the pattern of healthful words.
" (1 timothy 1:18-20; 2 timothy 2:16,17) how could the early christians avoid being led astray by apostates?

They say
instead of questioning God's Word
And then
have the attitude of the first-century Beroeans who examined the Scriptures closely
Would not "examining closely" involve some questioning? Typical WT reasoning. There was a post here not so long ago from a WT article about the Beroeans... Something to the effect that "examining closely" meant reading the scriptures from a perspective of *trying* to prove to themselves the things the Christians were preaching to them. A "hopeful perspective," or some such junk, wanting to believe that it was so. In other words, examine the scriptures closely with our interpretation in mind, in order to prove our interpretation, if you want to be a modern-day Beroean. No questioning involved.
Like you said, typical WT reasoning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by Ardilla infirst of all, thanks to all the advices you sent me about having an affair with a married man.

I think that Stephanus is right... If you get involved with this guy, there will be pressure to become a Jehovah's Witness again. If that is what you want, then go ahead... But if that's not what you want, make sure you understand *exactly* what this guy wants. Ask him if he will feel the same way about you if you never return to the Witnesses. I think his response to that question will help you make your decision.

Spidermonkey if you are reading this,,,,,,,,,,,,, she may pay very well........... something to think about...... LOL
Laughing my monkey tail off... My name, in part comes from the fact that when I was a kid, I loved monkeys... I begged & pleaded w/ my parents to get me one, but the legal/ethical considerations won. Probably for the best!
I've never been one to have lots of animals around, but I do love animals of all types. When I was a kid, I had 2 ferrets... After I left the dubs, I got my first ever personal dog (Tequila) from the pound... She was about 6 months old at the time, VERY skinny, and sick... she had mange, missed hair all over one side of her face & shoulder... The SPCA ppl told me I probably shouldn't take her; they thought she was going to die in the next week or so. But as I held her in my arms, she just started licking & licking me, looking up w/ the proverbial puppy dog eyes... And I said, "Die? Not on my watch!" W/in about 2 days, she was frolicking like there was an eternity of tomorrows... Such a sweet dog; all she needed was love. Over the 8 years I had her, I can't count the number of ppl that said she was the happiest, friendliest dog they'd ever met... sigh

Lessons I've learned...
by WildTurkey inlets post lessons we have learned:.
i've learned that no matter how much i care, some people are just assholes.. .
i've learned that it takes years to build up trust, and only suspicion, not proof, to destroy it..

I've learned that "now" is the moment of power... If I want to do something, or want to make a change in how I normally do things, I'd better do it now or else it won't happen.... Now is the only time that really matters, in that sense... If I'd known that when I was 13, before I got baptized, I'd be very powerful indeed

I've never listened to Stern before, but I hear Limbaugh's show all the time on the radio at work. He demonizes "liberals," and points out fallacies in their ideology, and then proceeds to spew his own "conservative" ideology, using *exactly* the same fallacies. I have no examples to share, as I wrote the big dummy off a long time ago, and I don't keep track of his exact words.
Politically, I'm for using whatever works... In 2000 & 2004 I voted for Ralph Nader, because the alternatives were so appalling.

Dave, I've enjoyed many of your posts, and would like to know what you would consider to be a good book for a beginner on this subject? Or any number of books, for that matter; I'm an avid reader
