  an extrem strong earthquake happened recently in the indian ocean near island of sumatra.

  level 8,5 - 8,9. no contact to many islands and coasts anymore.

  no phone to the maledives and other touristic islands possible.

  Buster: what a twist on my words. I was making a comparison with those that perished and people like yourself. Instead of getting the point, you come at me with some idiotic comparison with a killer.

  Valis: You obviously don't agree with me, but my words are very true. As an imperfect human being you could never understand Jehovah's way of handling things. You judge him as if you are perfectly rightous. I feel sorry for you that you have the audacity to question Jehovah God and put yourself above his rightousness.

  If Jehovah intervened, then you would mock the sign of the end. These things must happen. Those that have sadly perished are really closer to eternal life than those that mock Jehovah God and blaspheme his good name.

  i remember one time at an assembly these two "brothers" were actually arguing over thier seats.

  i thought they were going to go to blows.

  isn't it funny how during the regular meeting nobody wants to set in the front rows, but boy at an assembly everyone wants to have that "showy means of display" by being in the front rows to be seen by all?

  Your comments seem extemely critical and negative. I personally like to sit near the platform in assamblys because it helps keep my concentration on the program. I really don't care if I'm seen sitting in the front or not.

  And why is it that when someone is working hard in the organization, you label him as a "suck up". Could it be that the brother is motivated by his love to Jehovah and to his fellow brothers and sisters? Come to think of it, the only reason you would call someone working hard a "suck up" is because you were too lazy to do any hard work.

  It is very common to see spanish congregations in the U.S. have 130 to 150 publishers with an attedance from 200 to 250. It's not because they have many children as this is only a stereotype. There are many bible studies that attend meetings. In the congregation I currently attend, we are 120 publishers, with an average attendance of 230. The congregation is currently conducting 170 bible studies. In last year's memorial celebration, we had an attendance of 480. By the way, due to new congregations having been formed in the last 4 years, our territory is extremely small. Our congregation was formed in January, 2004. Not bad for a new congregation!

  I live in the area and know this Kingdom Hall very well. It was serving 5 local spanish congregations, so the use mas maxed out. New land has been obtained to build a double auditorium kingdom Hall with 250 capacity on each side. The price for this Kingdom Hall is very attractable for the area.

  i was at university the other night in the computer lab, cruising this site, well a fellow classmate who has been in my class since sept and we have become friends, walks past, looks at the site i am on and says, "i noticed you are on a jw site, did you know i am a jw, are you one?".

  i was shocked.

  i turned to him and let loose,.

  How much would you say the average JW donates in $$$ ?????

  regarding donations, what would you say the average jw would donate in $$$ in a one year span.. some are richer then others, some have no children, some have 6 children, i imagine it would vary quite a bit.. so what would be a fair average, $1,000 / year per person ?????.

  now when i say donation, i mean every dollar a person gives, this would include contribution boxes in the hall, assemblies, etc, donations for magazines, books, videos etc, every possible thing one would donate money to the watchtower for.. if $1000 a person is a fair number, then multiply it by 6,000,000.

  = $ 6 billion dollars a year, nice scam watchtower.

  Someone said $250 per publisher, I don't know what country that calculation came from, but that is far from reality.

  In our congregation in the USA, and keep in mind we are not an English speaking congregation, the average is as follows:

  Donations to the congregation (for operating costs, bills, etc...) = $8 per publisher

  Donations to the World Wide Work = $2.50 per publisher

  Donations to the Kingdom Hall Fund = $0.00 per publisher

  These are actual averages for 2004.

  I also served in third-world country that has over 100k publishers, and the branch would only average about $20 per congregation (after monterary conversion into dollars) per month. In order to cover costs, they would turn over bills, expenses, etc. to the Watchtower in Brooklyn.

  >edited to add that the above averages are based on "per month" donations. After rereading the original post, the question was asking for "per year" average.

  If you reread my post you will see that I'm not saying that the holy spirit is directly responsible for the outcome of a judicial hearing. The elders are responsible for the outcome. But I am saying that the holy spirit can guide the elders if they allow the spirit to. For example, an elder might come to a judicial hearing with a preconceived idea of what he will decide before even hearing the case. In that instance, he would not be allowing the spirit to guide the hearing. Another elder, could come to a hearing with the intent of listening and determining whether the person is repentant. To come to that conclusion he might find scriptures or he might deliberate using a publication as I explained before. In that case he would be allowing the spirit to guide him.
