In my post above I didn't actually take into consideration the required fulfillment of prophecies. Certain prophecies have to be fulfilled before the Great Tribulation could ever be announced—such as the UN ending false religion, as ttdtt has pointed out.

What will happen when they go full cult mode
by RobertT18 inand they start delivering their message of judgment?
what do you think will happen when they start knocking on doors and telling people that their families will be killed in armageddon because they did not believed in jehovah.
i'm curious how people will react.

I don't think the Governing Body will ever announce this change from "the good news" to "the message of judgement." The judgement message requires the Great Tribulation to come. When the Great Tribulation is announced to have started, then it means that the end will come in just a few weeks or months. That would be the end of this cult because that end will not come.
Imagine this scenario:
Jehovah's Witnesses announce that the Great Tribulation have started. The Governing Body is gone as are all other anointed ones. Jehovah's Witnesses now await the end that would bring the Paradise, so they keep waiting for Armageddon. How long will they wait after the announcement of the Great Tribulation? What will happen if the end doesn't come in a few weeks? a few months? a few years? a few decades? Eventually, they will have to realise that the end is not coming.
Accordingly, if the Governing Body—or some other Jehovah's Witness-appointed team—announced the judgement message, all Witnesses would begin to anticipate the end... which will not come. That would be the end of this cult, I assume.
However, if it did happen—and I would love to see it, frankly—they would gain the same reputation as the Westboro Baptist church did. (By the way, how did that church even start? I mean... how the heck is this possible that anyone was ever convinced of this utter bullsh*t that this church sells?) The newspapers would probably be very busy calling the Jehovah's Witness organisation a hateful cult, etc. And then the Witnesses would be running around in their circles screaming, "Persecution! Persecution!" In the end, everyone would be disappointed that the end is nowhere to be seen, and so they would eventually leave. They'd be forced to join the real world. Without education. Without money. But that would probably take a year or two after the announcement of the judgement message. Maybe a bit more.
P.S. The young ones would probably leave the cult right after the announcement of the judgement message. They'd be too embarrassed, probably, to "judge people" in front of their colleagues from school. I know I would leave. Hell, I'd run for my life. Then I'd die of embarrassment.
P.P.S. The above gave me a bit to think about... We may see an increase in the suicidal rates of teenagers if the organisation ever announces the judgement message.

Elders/MSs and Higher Education
by HiddlesWife inwould a brother who is an elder or ministerial servant be looked down upon or ostracized for endeavoring into high education?.
the reason i am asking this question is because i know of a ms who went to and graduated college (us) with a masters in science and engineering.
he also taught these subjects at an adult education program.

stuckinarut2 - If stuff like that doesn't scream CULT ALERT, then nothing will...
Imagine telling people whether they can or can not choose to become educated!
When I was still in, stuff like that—though limited to paragraphs in Watchtower about higher education—didn't scream CULT ALERT to me. I realised how strange this belief was only when one elderly "sister" criticised me when I told her that I'm going to university.
Those people are... I'll let you finish.
NewYork44M - I would simply provide a non descriptive answer saying that my employer requires me to take some classes... and then change the subject. Based upon my experience the key is to lay low. Most people, don't really care.
That'd be an even more interesting experience to share if you actually told them that you were pursuing an advanced degree. Those two words—"pursue" and "advanced"—when said in relation to "degree" or "education" are utterly despised by the Jehovah's Witnesses, haha :D

WT uses new Technology ... the Governing Body in 3D
by RubaDub ini am not sure how the wt does it or what technology is used.
but when i look at the jw.org website and look at pictures in the recent publications from the lord's evening meal / last supper, it seems very strange.. i turn on my tv, put on 3-d glasses and the apostles now appear to be current and former members of the governing body.. i turn the tv off, restart it, and it appears to be the same members but now they have changed seats.. very interesting.. rub a dub.

"Belief" and "Faith" are Simply Emotional Terms for Ideas and Opinions (long post)
by xjwsrock inthis is my current bottom-line conclusion after starting to see through the jw game 3 to 4 years ago and going through my own process of waking up.
it helps to write it down and put it "out there".
i hope it helps or resonates with you in your own personal process.. basically if i were given 10 seconds to say something to an active jehovah's witness that i cared about it would be the headline above.

xjwsrock - Any communication would need to be direct and to multiple eyewitnesses at the same time to eliminate the possibility of hallucination, schizophrenia, etc.
Actually... there are documented cases of people sharing the same or similar delusions. You can read this Wikipedia article about it. It is possible for multiple individuals to have the same hallucination or delusion—unfortunately.
Still, a normal (read: real) God would consider what you have just said. For instance, why would He allegedly inspire the Bible if He did not preserve the original manuscripts? (I realise this example is not exactly what you are talking about, but it still touches on unreasonable communication of a divine with humans.)

The Shunning truth is now out...
by babygirl30 ini have been df'd for 9yrs as of july 31 (yay me!).
so as i have written about previously in other posts, my whole family (parents + sister) made the choice to treat me as if i do not exist, and i have accepted it.
last summer they made a blatant show of it as our family reunion, in that they would walk right by me and not say one word...prompting our extended family to question their actions.

Do JWs believe they will be the only people saved at the "end"?
by LaurenM inthe answer posted on jw.org: "no.
many millions who lived in centuries past and who weren’t jehovah’s witnesses will have an opportunity for salvation.
additionally, many now living may yet begin to serve god, and they too will gain salvation.

Jamex Mixon, let's start with the fact that a normal God would destroy Satan right after Adam and Eve's sin (not that they actually lived anyway...) Like... are we actually supposed to believe that God didn't destroy Satan because He was afraid (er... God is afraid...?) that His other subjects would rebel as well...?
Right... Satan is destroyed because God is stronger. Adam and Eve die because Satan is wrong and God is right. Therefore, God's angels knowingly rebel because they know that God is right and is stronger and thus can destroy them within seconds.
For now, I will leave the analogy of the rebellious student in a class alone... (You know which one... the student rebels against the teacher and stuff...)
