Trolley cart "witnessing" is getting ridiculous

i really fail to see how much actual "witnessing" is occurring with the trolley carts.publishers, usually pioneers, just stand or sit there not engaging anyone and count their time.. the only thing i notice that it's accomplishing is brand exposure for jw.0rg so the public is exposed to the logo and literature/poster card headlines.. take for example this "evening" witnessing by a pioneer elder while on summer holiday/vacation.. .

is this not a wth kinda moment when you consider the years of slaving, knocking on doors, business territory and bible studies we had to keep performing so we weren't branded a "weak" publisher?.

stan livedeath - is it ok to count time if a dub sticks a jayworg sign in his front window at home ? or--how about a jayworg bumper sticker ? count time whilev driving. or even when the car is parked for hours.

Ah, our organisation is truly advancing and going ahead of all other organisations and religions!!

Interesting find in the bible last night

so i was reading genesis chapter 10 and 11 to see how it explains the man who supposedly is the offspring of noah and he and his offspring become the nation known as egypt.

in some bibles they actually call him egypt.

well as i was reading chapter 10 i noticed something.

sir82 is a bit mistaken here... The first 11 chapters of Genesis are not "a mishmash of a bunch of separate . . . oral traditions." The whole Pentateuch is. The modern scholarly consensus is that the Torah was not written in part or in whole by Moses or by any other single person. It is a composition of different written sources (not oral traditions) which then were based on oral traditions.

There is a hypothesis called the Documentary Hypothesis which states that the Pentateuch is composed of four separate written sources named J, E, D, and P. However, scholars today have varying views in regards to that hypothesis. Some say that there were more sources, some disagree with the dating of these sources, some say that J and E were not separate sources, and on and on it goes... Basically, scholars have different views, but everyone agrees that the whole Pentateuch is a composition of different sources.

If you're talking about the historical Jesus who was an apocalyptic Jewish preacher named Yeshua who lived in the first century and claimed to be the messiah but who didn't perform any miracles, then I don't think you've been searching for years. Then you're just blind. If, however, you're talking about the Jesus of the Bible who did perform miracles, then there's no evidence or any reason to believe in that myth.

As far as I'm concerned I already debunked his hypothesis. And he didn't answer my objections. I don't see how that makes it plausible.

in another video of ex-bethelite (how women are treated) a bethel elder is mentioned who talked to brothers at the table and gave advice abouth marriage and said that it would be the best to marry a women when is as young and pretty as possible, (at 8:45) so you have the possibilty to train her and to mode her in to what you want and get her used in the roles you set for her..... other bethelits made big errors and married older women 24,25.women that would have their own concepts of what bethel or marriage should be.

Reinstated and then fade

i'm a man - d'fd for 2.5 years now and divorced.

find it hard to date girls out here only due to always having this secret i carry with me that i was once a jw and the thought of telling a girl one day why my family don't acknowledge me as even alive.. recently been thinking of trying to get reinstated and then do a quick fade as i cant go back to the whole jw stuff.. easier said than done and was turned down twice by elders after an immediate attempt 2 years ago.. my motivation for trying would be 1.

) to see if family make contact and 2) play the last hand in their game and give the middle finger.. interested in viewpoints?.

If they can't accept you when you're not officially a Jehovah's Witness—even if you're not a bad or immoral person—why should they matter to you? "Because blood"? Blood relations are random. They only have meaning when there's acceptance and love. Otherwise, they're meaningless. (Sorry if it seems a bit harsh to someone; I was invited to share my viewpoint.)

I'd have to agree with just fine. Move along. Shun them back. Write them a letter explaining why you feel obliged to shun them.

When—if—you'll find the right person, you'll see that she'll accept you no matter what. People are better than you may (I'm not totally sure whether you do) think. When you tell her about your past, she'll understand. She won't hate you. She'll hate your Jehovah's Witness family because they won't accept you. There's no reason to hold back who you once were. Embrace it. Live with it. Move along.

Edit: Just saw what LifesNotOver said. I'd have to agree that it's better to tell her about your past matter-of-factly and when you know her a bit and the time is right.

looking for some material to post on facebook or at least share with my wife to somewhat inoculate her mind before the convention this weekend.. found this gem...it's as if the writers are apostates reasoning against the tactics used at this years convention.....(probably old news to many here....quite new for me).. the cunning propagandist loves such shortcuts—especially those that short-circuit rational thought.

propaganda encourages this by agitating the emotions, by exploiting insecurities, by capitalizing on the ambiguity of language, and by bending rules of logic.

while trying to have a conversation with a trump supporter today i realized the person knew next to nothing about the us constitution, world events, trumps flip-flops, hillary's e-mails, etc.. i have sense decided it is much easier to do absolutely no research and boldly make broad proclamations rather than read up on a particular topic and make concise points.

as such, i will now be telling you why tim kaine was the worst governor new jersey has ever had:.

under tim kaine new jersey gdp dropped by 97%.. humming birds were able to penetrate restricted airspace.. the bridge to missouri kept getting closed.. he made the state look weak by having a state flower.. all the hard working i-pad miners lost their jobs.. and he set up obamacare death panels that were run by isis in planned parenthood vegan centers..

ctrwtf - Speaking of under-informed voters. Tim Kaine was never the governor of New Jersey. He was the governor of Virginia however.
Thomas Keane was a governor of New Jersey and a republican, not a democrat.
