Nope. I just want hear what others say here. But from my Bible reading, there are a lot more than just believing..
going for a word by word bible reading/study with a jw, no literature involved and maybe using more than one versions.
is that a wise move and is there any advantage?.
Thank you for all your advice. I really appreciate that and will keep in mind.
i was reading in revelation 7 yesterday, where the 12 tribes of the sons of israel are named and where we learn that 12,000 from each tribe are sealed.
how do the jws explain that the 144,000 are identified as israel - and identified so specifically that the 12 tribes are named?
be gentle with me when answering.
How do they decide which should be literal and which should be figurative?
i received this article from a friend:.
watchtower changes concerning the anointed 144,000. there has been a major change concerning the 144,000 (the anointed) and for many years the anointed has played a major role in the teachings of the watchtower (wt).
the 144,000 is the most crucial teaching to the witnesses; however, the teaching on this belief has changed over the past few years.
jwfacts, have you posted anything regarding this yet in jwfacts.com?

A lot of people here can testify that if you think there's no way that could happen, you are in real danger of it.
Thanks Ding. I'll extra careful and will ask A LOT of stupid questions
You should probably get to know as much about the Bible and JW beliefs as you can, though, because they come up with this stuff that seems semi-convincing and like they really know what they're talking about.
Been doing a lot of homework lately but not sure if it is enough. There are a lot of beliefs and theory aka doctrine of the JWs that I don't quite understand (maybe because it doesn't make sense and not Biblical - more of human interpretation and assumptions instead of what is written in the Bible). Reading threads here helps a lot really.

Is the inactive JW a romantic interest?
Unfortunately, yes. Some of you may had read my 1st post, I had decided to stick with him. I love him and I think leaving him because of his current situation would make me no different from the JWs, and at the moment, I just can't bring myself to do that. Especially when he said he is still trying to figure out things (although obviously his thoughts and views are still very much leaning towards the teachings of the cult).
At least I have to do my very best to help him now and I'll see what will happen and decide from there.
I really appreciate all of your feedback, I think they are very helpful. I really need that because I don't know much about JW myself. I only found out about the cult too late, when I was already in the relationship with him (although he had told me earlier about it, but I didn't know how seriously a cult it was).

WTS/JW = FAKE that's for sure
But here is one dumb question ~ How did the "anointed" know they are the anointed? Were they appointed by the elders/WTS or what? And how would the WTS decide the if the "annointed" ones were truly the annointed? What were the criterias or sign/wonders used to determine they are?
