Even if by some huge leap over the grand canyon that the temple was destroyed in 607 which is most certainly was not, the cult has been wrong on all of its predictions. The end did not come in 1914 and WW1 was not what they predicted. They lie, selectively forget and change what they said to cover it all up. There are so many lines of evidence to show that the temple was destroyed in 586-7 and none to show it was 607. The cult uses the same lines of date setting when it comes to all other dates but then switches to some mystic bull crap when it comes to 607. The fact is its a cult, its a dangerous cult and the leaders are a bunch of drunken idiots who show they are not that smart every day.

If anyone ever makes the claim that they don't focus on Money ALL the time...
by HiddenPimo ini saw this mentioned on reddit but no link - i found the article form this weeks bible study..... in the “congregation bible study” part of the meeting this week there was a part that said and i quote: “only jehovah god and his son can receive someone into the heavenly kingdom or the paradise on earth under that kingdom.
we should diligently cultivate friendship with them by using what material riches we have in supporting kingdom interests”.

why do jws hate pagans?
by nowawake14 inpaganism from my view is just a mental fantasy.
it's not real.
so why do jws get mad at it anyway?

The JWs will say they don't hate anyone that is why they preach. But they will say they hate all religions that are not JW.

JWs, The WatchTower Society, Child Abuse and Disfellowshipping
by Simon insomething just struck me.. is the wts the only religion that won't kick people out for abusing children, but would kick you out for visiting a website that informs you that the wts won't kick people out for abusing children .... it really shows where their sensibilities lie.
they are more interested in acting as gatekeepers to information, especially information about them, than providing basic levels of protection to the children of their members.. maybe someone with a better turn of phrase can shorten it, it might make a good meme - something short and simple that really makes people think:.
"the wts - tougher on those who read reports of jw child abuse than on jws who conduct child abuse".

It would be a huge mistake for the cult to go on line for meetings. Meetings and assemblies serve only one purpose that is to keep the rank and file in line. Visually to see others dressing and acting a curtain way is to keep them in line. Remove this and have it in the comfort of their own home for meetings and its going to give some the chance to slip away. Maybe they are too stupid to see that though.

I was with my Brother in law when we were in service and given this book. I have posted on this before but it got me to thinking. It was taken from us by the local elder we talk to about it. I bought an original copy from 56 on eBay for 3 bucks in very good condition. Its only 200 pages so not a long read. I figured it was time I finally read it. Anyone read this book? I read Evens book about leaving and it was a bit laborious for me. Any insight what to expect.

“You know how I know that they're finished out there? The carts.”
by Athanasius inthe watchtower's many legal problems and the jws' use of carts in their preaching work, reminded me of a scene and dialog from the film patton.. in a scene where patton is viewing a battle site the morning after, he says to an aide about the nazis: “you know how i know that they're finished out there?
in my dreams i saw the carts.
they kept buzzing around in my head and i couldn't figure out why.

Last I was in they said the literature was free but we should donate what we felt it was worth. I can remember one brother from the platform saying a modern bible goes for 30 to 40 dollars and we should donate that if we get one. There were hoping for more than what they used to charge for the propaganda.

There are so many things that are different today than in the past even from 20 years ago. The JWs enjoyed growth when many people were farm based, bible loving and very ignorant of the world at large. People to know a history of a group like the cult would have to go to a library and if it even had any books on the cult they would be few and far between. The history one would have to dig into older JW publications and it would be an exhausting task. This was true for many many years. Even in the 70s after the 75 debacle some of us saw personally it was still hard to find out about as the older publications were not that easy to find. Some Halls may have some but I never saw a hall that had more than a small amount of older publications. Then came the internet. It not only connected people who had dug and found bits and pieces but we could put all those bits together, people started to connect and write books and look deeper. It really has only been about 20 years we have had the information we now do. Where one can at a finger tip find out so much history of the cult. There are videos that are very well done that give an over all history of the cult we could not even dream of 35 years ago. So today some JW knocks at your door and tells you the end is near and you go to your phone or laptop after they leave and type in Jehovah's witness and find out all the lies and false teachings and know they are nuts. 50 years ago its not even possible to find any thing on their history. I remember going to a door with my Brother in law. The guy had a book on the JWs by William Schnell 30 years a watchtower slave. He gave it to us after pointing out some things to look at. My brother in law took the book and was very confused. We went to elder assuptight and he took the book and told us that Schnell would send brothers out in service and then call the police on them so he could bail them out to look like a hero. I believe he made this shit up just to throw us off the trail. We never saw the book again. That was the only time in my 35 years of being with the JWs we even had anything critical of the cult given to us.

Our Spiritual Heritage of Failed Expectations
by neat blue dog inlast sunday's watchtower tells the story of a man who:.
was baptized in 1908 at the age of 20. he was very confident that he would soon receive his reward.
in fact, when he proposed marriage in 1911, he told his prospective bride, pearl: “you know what is going to happen in 1914. if we are going to get married, we better do it soon!” did this christian couple give up the race for life when they did not receive their heavenly reward in 1914?

Its very difficult to change the mind of a cult member. It has to come from within. You can have the best argument with the most proof and if they don't want to hear it its a waste of time. The best thing we who are out can do is not to bring others out of the cult. They have to do that them self. But to stop others from getting into the cult. Break the cycle before it starts.

With these 2 long term building projects will it FINALLY wake up some jdub's?
by nowwhat? inwith the ramped up rhetoric the last few years many were totally convinced the end would be here by 2019-20 .
and instead of making due, the org.
has burdened the brothers once again to donate and volunteer for the new and improved patterson and video production center to be completed by 2026!

There is so much crap that should wake up cult member but once in you are surrounded by other cult members telling you its all true, very hard to get out.
