Maybe this is why women in general are kept out of politics, both in the real world and in jw land, we are too peaceable (seen as a weakness) and it's much harder to convince peaceable people to do the dirty work for you. Children? Well, they can be groomed and brainwashed easily.

unbaptized boy having priority over women
by enoughisenough ini was thinking about the male children ( even unbaptized ) being placed ahead of the sisters.
; and i thought the jw were raising a bunch of misogynist.
would these kids not feel more important than their mothers let alone other women.

Has The "Evil Slave" Died Out?
by Sea Breeze inthose of us who have deep roots into watchtower remember the shadowy whispers about "the evil slave" when we were kids.. for those that need to get up to speed: .
the internal crisis came to its full with the occurrence of an outstanding bible-predicted event, namely, the coming of jehovah’s “messenger,” christ jesus, to jehovah’s temple for judgment in the spring of 1918, to separate the “faithful and discreet slave” class from the “evil slave” group.

They might have left it a bit late for that, all the recent changes are their own

On another thread a while ago, someone suggested that the borg might claim 'evil slave' if the WTC goes under due to the CSA cases onslaught, they could retire the current GB to wherever they've got pretty properties lined up (that was another thread I believe, gorgeous cottage in the countryside, for 'translators') and install a fresh lot, maybe change the jw name and logo while they're at it.
I have a sneaky feeling that they have plans A, B and C in case it all goes belly up!

The accounts in Luke and Matthew regarding the evil and faithful slaves are parables, not prophecies. The WT org likes to take a few verses out of the entire parable, and call that a prophecy, whilst treating the rest of the parable as it truly as, an educational story.
It's up to each and every one of us to decide Which way to live our lives and how we treat others. There's no such thing as a 'slave class ' in the Bible. That's just men and their egos coming up with yet another hierarchy, to put themselves in the best seats at the feast 😏

German Branch visit talk Mark Sanderson (Parents; don't hinder young children to get baptized)
by Daniel1555 inthe video streaming of the german branch visit program was excrutiating 3.5 hours long.. i just went to see the last 45 min (part of mark sandersons talk).. i think sanderson is quite a sympathetic speaker and he kind of made a loving impression.. he didn't mention controversial stuff (except for one thing i will come to soon).
he mostly talked about how to find joy, even when life is not easy, and how much the gb loves the rank and file.. one point seemed soooo important to him.
parents and children.

I just remember the gossip, it was endless, when I was a child it caused my parents, and us kids didn't have a great life during that time either, so much stress and grief. My Dad is and always has been a rule follower, that didn't go down in the elder bodies.
We moved countries and the letter of non recommendation sent about him was so awful that the elders in the new cong laughed and said it told them more about the guys who wrote it than about my Dad. They ignored it.
There was lots of issues with gossiping teenagers, and bullying. The elders kids were the worst of course.
I remember leaving mid meeting one time with my mum because I wasn't feeling well, in the carpark we witnessed an elders wife literally swinging her daughter around by her long hair whilst screaming at her. We were both shaking, my mum reported it to my Dad but I don't know if it went any further.
Mid teens and my best friend confided in me how her single mum 'home schooled' her but actually made her work, cleaning hotel rooms, where she was raped, she was 14 or 15 at the time. The mum ended up being a lesbian and left the org.
She also used to punish my friend by burning her with a hot iron.
Field service car sharing and coffee drinking was so often used for gossip mongering, although one or two (and they're the people I miss now) were great for deep conversations and critical thinking. I wonder how they're doing nowadays, are they even still in the org.
My parents are good people, and I love them very much, but I remember the times where the stress caused by other 'brothers and sisters ' caused them horrendous grief, which did trickle down to us. I was the more rebellious child, I was home schooled and enjoyed a lot of freedom so I never became as indoctrinated by the school system either. I did pioneer eventually, but never reached the yearly hour requirements 😂.
Pioneers are not very happy people, constantly stressed, they don't sleep well generally or get enough down time. It's secular work, house work, family responsibilities, meeting prep (there's an unspoken rule I think that they're expected to be uber prepared for all meetings), service hours and they're expected to be the encouraging ones for the elderly and spiritually 'weak' ones. Far more so than ms and elders. And yet, especially the single sis pioneers, are expected to do all the above, and clean the hall/clean toilets at assemblies etc.
In the org it's 65% women. What would happen if they all woke up 😍

Members of congregation know it’s not true
by Mikejw inwe have lonely old folks and even some not so old.. they know the gb are not who they claim to be.. but they stay in the congregation because they are lonely.
i wonder what percentage of jws this is the case, i would guess a lot.

Sadly, after a lengthy discussion about the CSA scandals with my pimi parents, I see that they're fully in, hook line and sinker.
They rationalise everything, and excuse anything.,
I has really saddened me to the point of tears.
My father justified the two witness rule because he related of two cases, not jw related, where a young girl had falsely accused a man, destroying his life etc only to recant 10 years later.
My reasoning was, is it fair to deny justice to 1000's of victims because 2 people in the past had been liars?
To me it shows exactly the attitude of the org to girls and women in particular, we are nothing but cannon fodder to the ego of their men. They are in direct opposition to Jesus command to look after widows and orphans and the lowly ones in society.
Feeling very disheartened today 😓

I don't mean this in a nasty way so please don't read this as such, you ask if it's a jw habit and from my personal experience, yes, yes it is.
As jw we are taught that we are the only people who have the truth and everyone else is wrong, they are 'worldly' people from Satan's system. This I believe, creates such an arrogance and superiority within us that we can't stop ourselves from spouting what we believe, too much and too fast, with no realisation of how this is being received until it's too late and we've lost any connection we had with the other person.
This sounds harsh but it has definitely been the case in myself and JWs I know.
Once we leave the org we finally get the opportunity to learn true humility, true compassion and empathy, that draws people to you without any effort or second guessing, there's no pretence or putting on an act like JWs do, and that is instinctively felt by others. This is how Jesus himself must have been, according to the gospels, people felt drawn to him, he was on their level in all sincerity, not pretending, and from there he had people enthralled and following him day and night just to hear him teach.

A thought struck me, are they anticipating the loss of many elders......what with all the CSA cases around the world, are they preparing to use all the elders associated with those cases as scapegoats?
In that case they would need to prepare for substitutes asap.
Interesting how the corp has found alternative beliefs around blood transfusions ie you can take fractions, and they have loosened the grip on personal dress and grooming, and how to treat the disfellowshipped, as per court instructions, but as regards women, they have NEVER EVER loosened their stance in any shape or form, despite the ARC practically demanding that they include women in their judicial committees as a kindness to the victims.
They were called cruel then, they are just as cruel now.
