There is a former Bethelite couple in my area undergoing a similar "test". They are in their 40s, so maybe not as desperate. The husband landed a job in my area, working for a "brother". It appears to be the opposite scenario to the one mentioned by longhairgirl. The Bethelite husband has a trade where he should be able to make good money. But his employer doesn't pay him enough to rent an apartment in this area. They have to live in a rented shed, with no kitchen. The wife has never worked to earn money and she's afraid she might have to give up pioneering, as her husband already has done.

JW.Org claims they have fullfilled Jesus command to preach in all the inhabited earth.Have they really done that ? I dont think so.
by smiddy inapart from the fact that they have mainly followed in the footsteps of christendom before them what virgin territories have they ever gone to that christendom before them has not gone to .
i would think none.. how many lands ,countrys ,are their that they have never made any significant inroads into ?.
we are not talking about token service in any of these countrys in major cities , but a real door to door witness to every individual householder that gets it every few months as in western lands.. some that i can think of : north korea ,mainland china , bangladesh ,india , pakistan , jordan , israel , iran , syria ,burma ( sorry cant think of the new name ).

Smiddy, good list of countries barely touched by WT propaganda. I might add Indonesia, a country of 256 million people, including 25 thousand JWs, about 1 in 10,000.
So what is WT going to do this year to jump start the preaching work there? Hold a Special Convention in Jakarta and invite special JWs to a party. They have invited people from Australia, Japan, Malaysia, Nepal, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, the Russian Federation, Thailand, the US, and Vietnam Nam.
They did this kind favor for Taiwan last year, anther barely touched "land". -

Blonde, thanks for the insights. The quote from Arnie is priceless. WT published his audacious quote from when he was a very young man, something he wishes he could take back now that he is more mature. What Christian kindness and modesty to publish something the man regrets he even said.

BRITAIN ZONE VISIT - 18th March 2017
by Nicholaus Kopernicus ina. llewellyn – wt summary (“why modesty still matters”).
i won’t go into this much as an individual can read it for themselves and conclude as s(he) sees fit.
what i would say however, is that i remember llewellyn using phrases like “knowing your place in jehovah’s organisation” and “taking care not to act presumptuously”.

Nicholas, thanks for sharing your notes.
BB, you noted that in addition to giving an hour talk to the people subjected to the branch, the HQ heavy spends a week gathering info to report to the GB. Does anyone know exactly what they do for a week? I am curious as to what kind of interrogations are needed. Are they just checking to see that Branch managers are obedient?

The Finished Mystery 100 Years of BullSh$t Continues
by Buster k inhello everyone i wish everyone a good day and many good prayers to all.
as a newcomer here 2nd post overall.

The best thing about this book is that it resulted in the imprisonment of Judge Rutherford and his cronies. It's too bad that they did not serve out their full sentences.
The claim is made that it is the writings of Pastor Russell, but his will expressly forbade the writing of further books after his death. So the fact that it was published 9 months after his death shows how little respect the publishers had for their dead false prophet. Nobody seems to care what he wanted or the fact that he considered himself to be the one and only FDS. The publishers seem to be very willing to use the delusion of his followers to sell books.
I wish I had read this book decades ago. It is crazy. The craziest part to me is between page 64 and page 65, the illustrations showing the seven angels or messengers of Revelation. Russell claims to be the seventh Messenger, the Laodicean Meseenger. Then on page 65 he claims to be “the most prolific writer of Biblical Truth that ever lived”.

Catching up on the A.R.C.
by The Searcher ini haven't been here for several days, so apologies if similar comments have been posted regarding messrs spinks' & o'brien's "spiritual & scriptural" replies to the australian royal commission last week.. perhaps this line of questioning by mr. stewart could have helped exposed the org's corruption of the "two witness" rule:.
mr stewart: mr. spinks, does the jehovah's witnesses' leadership base their "two witness" rule solely on the bible?.
mr. spinks: yes.

Nice video, flame. Those guys from the Australasian branch should be fired for claiming only adults and children approaching adulthood get baptized. Or they should ask Lett to resign for pushing child baptism.
The March JWTV program repeated "baptism at age 10" in three contexts:
1) Lett was happy to see a 10 year old get baptized.
2) Lett bragged about getting baptized himself at 10.
3) He pointed out the youngest person baptized at the Paris Special Convention last year was 10.
Repetition for emphasis.
Of course he declined the summons issued by the ARC in January to participate in last week's hearing in Sydney, coward that he is, like his cohorts.

Way to make me look stupid . . .
by Coded Logic inwhen the arc made their recommendations to the society last year i genuinely thought we'd see some real changes.
oh sure, i expected a lot of feet dragging, double talk, and general nonsense - but at the end of the day i was certain the society would do what they legally had to and then run around claiming:.
) these new policies and procedures aren't really new we've always done them.

I also hoped that Watchtower management would willingly do the right thing for the sake of the child victims and potential future victims. But it looks like they will only do so when forced to do so by more caring authorities, like ARC and the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia. Thanks to good people in high places Watchtower will have to pay and it appears that they are now more eager to see that these crimes are reported to the police, so they can document it for the courts. It is not out of the goodness of their hearts, as I had hoped it might be.

I see from your first post that you're doing the right things. You're minimizing your investment in WT and you're getting an education. You're a smart young man. Do make the effort to make friends at school.

Toes up and Steve, thanks for your comments about Tony bragging about how his sons make him look good. It does make him seem arrogant and almost anyone reading that would agree. It's all about him.
But it had never crossed my mind that he could use that kind of talk to manipulate his sons. Those two 40ish men are probably more trapped than just about anyone. The photo of them in the W mag with their beautiful wives, their pope dad and sweet looking Irish-American mom is very appealing. I am sure they are treated well at Bethel, as royalty. And their wives probably don't have to clean toilets. But they have no education and few job prospects outside of Bethel. They are so trapped, with very little motivation to act on any doubts they might have. It's a variation of what many of us have faced and are facing.
