This reminds me of the ghouls who wait to pounce at you in the Halloween haunted houses. You might expect the the guy hiding between the carts to jump out at you and spit cheetos in your face.

Weekly Scripture Twist - aka the Watchtower Study
by doubtfull1799 in“more than material assistance, refugees need spiritual and emotional support.
(matt.
4:4) elders can help by obtaining literature in the language of the refugees and by helping them contact brothers who speak their language.

I have been trying to thank of comments that will wake people up to the cold hearted attitude of the Watchtower. Here is what I said today for one of the review questions:
"Since the Government and charities take care of the material needs of refugees before we ever see them, we need to focus our efforts on helping them with their emotional and spiritual needs."
The sad part is that it fit right in with the tone and content of the parroting session.

Where were the present GB members in 1975 and their ages the
by Lostandfound in42years have passed since the great 1975 expectation delivered nothing.
blame for the expectations laid at feet of the faithful, 'it's your fault , you believed us so you are responsible for the let down'.
i have asked this previously and repeat the point, where were the current members of the governing body, 43 years ago.

It would be absurd to imagine a 10 year old Mark Sanderson drinking wine.

waton, sorry I don't know when each of these guys started claiming to be special, but Gerrit Loesch did indicate in the biography he narrated for wt that he was anointed in 1968.
Here is how he put it:
We got married a year later, in April 1967, and we were allowed to continue in the traveling work together. The following year, I realized that by Jehovah’s undeserved kindness, he had adopted me as a spiritual son. Thus began a special relationship with my heavenly Father as well as with all those who, according to Romans 8:15, “cry out: ‘Abba, Father!’”
It's funny how he explained why he lost faith in the Catholic Church, as follows:
The Roman Catholic teaching of apostolic succession claims that there is an unbroken succession of popes in a line extending all the way back to the apostle Peter. (The church misinterprets Jesus’ words that are quoted at Matthew 16:18,19) Catholicism also claims that the pope is infallible in matters of doctrine when he speaks ex cathedra, or in an official capacity. I believed this and thought that if the pope, whom Catholics call Holy Father, is infallible in doctrinal matters and has proclaimed the Trinity to be true, then it must be true. But if he is not infallible, then the doctrine may be false. No wonder that for many Catholics the teaching of apostolic succession is the most important teaching, since the correctness or incorrectness of other Catholic teachings hinges on it!
I wonder how he cannot see that this undercuts his authority to control others.

The current 7 GB see themselves as being very special indeed. A few years ago they stopped sharing the limelight as the Slave with the growing thousands of remnant on earth. These 7 humans call the shots, and they can even ignore Jesus. But in heaven, as waton points out, they will be part of a much larger group, most of which did not have the privilege of controlling millions of humans. But they still expect to be very special, satisfying their narcissistic desires. For now, they don't want people to remember how wrong the GB was in 1975, and how wrong they were to go along with the charade.

Yes, the denial of 1975 is incredible. In 1975 the current GB would not have had any expectations of rising as high as they have. The old order was supposed to end.
When the governing body became the Governing Body in 1971, the 18 members were just picked by Knorr and Franz, to add to the 5 wt corporate officers. All of those original 18 are dead. The longest serving member now is Loesch, since 1998. The method for picking new GB members is no more legitimate than it was back then. They basically scout the world to see if there are any deluded men in the branches, COs, or missionaries that claim to have been hearing voices. Then they invite them to HQ, observe them, and see if they will fit the club. Holy Spirit has nothing to do with the process.

THOUGHTS OF CHAIRMAN ANTHONY MORRIS III
by Nicholaus Kopernicus inwe decided to add the graphic showing my name and position so that you are all made aware that i'm a big cheese among jehovah's witnesses.
for example, i'm not backward about being forward!
so when i made a speech against wearing tight pants some thought i'd be deleted from the governing body!

And if you feel the need to confirm any of the things I just said, ask my brother. If you hear him answer, let me know. But only if you have a penis. We might call you to Bethel to replace Sammy or Gerry 'cause they're getting old. If we pick you to join the shepherd club, we'll fit you for designer suits and bling, so you can Lord it over the sheep too.

I am sure they all remember the hype and are complicit in trying to deceive and whitewash history.
Herd is the oldest. He was 40 in 1975 and a full time recruiter.
Loesch was 35, already "anointed", and was a Gilead trained Missionary.
Splane was 32, a Gilead trained missionary.
Lett was 28, son of a CO, claiming to be anointed since age 19, and a Bethelite.
Morris was 25, newly recruited and baptized in 1971 in the frenzy leading up to 1975, pioneering and raising a young family. This might have added to his PTSD from the Vietnam War.
Jackson was 20, having been baptized as a child, dropping out of high school, pioneering from his teens, and married in time to have sex before Armageddon.
Sanderson is the youngest, but baptized very young at age 9 in 1973. His deluded parents might understand all of this best, since they likely were anxious to get him baptized before his destruction in fall 1975. At age 11, he would have believed anything the adults told him.

It seems like a good way to make money.
Gorby, is this the assembly hall featured on jwtv, where the people were bragging about how their faith was strengthened because they had to sell their businesses and houses, and quit their jobs for the privilege to give away their labor for free? Since they are now jobless and homeless, they are eager to give away their labor to build cult structures in Africa, for food and lodging.

2017 Sunday RC Final Talk & Comments About 1975
by baldeagle inmany of us here have commented on the deceitful friday afternoon video shown at the 2017 rc that discussed 1975.. the video attempted to shift the blame onto congregation members for the fiasco saying, "some were looking to a certain date as signifying the end of this old system of things.".
this same video mentions how, “a few even went so far as selling their homes and quitting their jobs.”.
we all know that the wt leadership created this teaching and endorsed it right up to its abject failure.. now below is the concluding talk given on sunday at the rc.

The speaker, introduced as George, appears to be in denial about the cause of the expectations surrounding 1975. He and his family have huge sunk costs. He has been employed at wt for 42 years and at age 60 or so he has few other job prospects and likely no way to support himself in retirement. His employer made up this stuff about 1975 and pushed it hard. If he blames them, he loses his livelihood.
My impression is that this is type of self flagellation, or, to use a communist era term, "self criticism". Instead of admitting he was duped by Freddy and wt, he takes the blame upon himself, and brags that he was able to get over it by keeping it in his head and not letting it go to his own treacherous heart. It's what he needs to do to feel good about an awful situation. Or maybe he suffers from folie a deux. Any jw under 60 will take him at his word, if they are still asleep. Older ones will try hard to agree with him.
