  'Spiritual food' and the global south

  i'm watching john cedars rebuttal of the annual meeting, and right at the start stephen lett starts going on and on about spiritual food, how nutritious it is, how filling it is, it comes across as weird but it doesn't help admittedly that the guy looks like bozo the clown forgot his act.

  but the thought just came to me as i'm eating dinner.. not everybody gets dinner.

  not everybody gets three meals a day.

  i think most of our imaginations of the new world was probably nothing like the watchtower reality.

  after all, we jws are very good at avoiding uncomfortable truths!

  If Jehovah really sees men's hearts, why does he use such convoluted ways to kill the wicked? Only a cruel, unloving, God would cause such suffering. That's why so many blind themselves to the wording in the Watchtower. They know in their hearts that a loving God would never be so unfair, or illogical.

  I likewise would be dead or living on the street if I had to rely on the US health care system. Without the caps established by the Affordable Care Act, I would be homeless, due to a heart attack, gallbladder surgery, eye surgery, and torn meniscus in both knees, none of which could be foreseen. Luckily, I'm now on Medicare, or I would be uninsurable at this point..

  I'm sure many here have insurance through their jobs, so don't realize the fear that those less fortunate have of any major illness.

  People will disagree, but there is a tiny minority of people who take advantage of the social safety net. If they're fine with the majority of those less fortunate suffering and dying because a few are cheaters, that's up to them and their conscience.

  everybody says there is this race problem.

  everybody says this race problem will be solved when the third world pours into every white country and only into white countries.. the netherlands and belgium are just as crowded as japan or taiwan, but nobody says japan or taiwan will solve this race problem by bringing in millions of third worlders and quote assimilating unquote with them.. everybody says the final solution to this race problem is for every white country and only white countries to “assimilate,” i.e., intermarry, with all those non-whites.. what if i said there was this race problem and this race problem would be solved only if hundreds of millions of non-blacks were brought into every black country and only into black countries?.

  First of all, I would be hesitant to embrace ideas that claimed their validity because they've been around since 1919. Just saying. IQ tests are not settled science, because there's no possible way to measure exactly how much environment, socio economic status, nutrition, and test bias can affect the results. Thus, you find that there are two camps, neither with indisputable conclusions.

  Also, a study of DNA ancestry by McGill University of Montreal shows that most African Americans have some European ancestry.

  Since you have so many friends of color, and have observed the successes of others, I take it then, as long as they adhere to the customs, language, and culture of Western civilization, you have no problem with immigrants. So as long as that is a given, I see no problem with the population getting a little browner.

  You ask, how do you determine race? Obviously, you define it as the color of individuals, going by your Frank Bruno example.

  Your Gaelic example is laughable, because they would be considered white, it doesn't matter what their ethnic background is.

  So, despite your protestations, most of those commenting here would prefer to live in an all white society. Just because they admit that there are some worthy, intelligent people of color, doesn't nullify their prejudice. It's too close to that old argument, "some of my best friends are black!".

  Some here think I'm a weepy liberal, but I'm actually a liberal realist. There are two ways to look at the situation. Someone who prefers whites will complain "the world is getting browner!" You could equally claim the world is getting paler, if you come from Swaziland.

  You will never convince me that someone who wants to live in an all white country doesn't consider whites to be generally superior to other races. It has nothing to do with "Western Civilization", no matter how you try to veil it with cherry picked examples of how whites are responsible for all major achievements. Whites had superior weapons, and forced their culture upon the rest of the world. When Europeans were floundering around in the Dark Ages, Arabia kept the flame of knowledge alive. It all boils down to that old adage. "to the victor belong the spoils."

  Whether by force, or simple assimilation, there's no going back. I plan to make the most of the situation by enjoying all the new experiences and interesting people I come across. I doubt that it will harm me or my children. even if their children are darker than me.

  So you see, I plan on having it both ways, being proud of my heritage, and sharing it with others, while learning and embracing the best of others.

  You're going to believe what you want to believe, no matter what I say. You can deal with it, or spend the rest of your life being a victim.Your complaints come right out of the xenophobe rant book, half truths and exaggerations that have nothing to do with white genocide.

  Good luck in this brave new world. I have a feeling you're going to hate every minute of it

  The racists I'm talking about are the ones chanting "Jews will not replace us", and "blood and soil!" Much of the rhetoric here is a hairs breadth from those sentiments.

  I've heard every point made here by white "victims", echoed in the speeches of white supremacists.

  Despite all the fearmongering, the number of immigrants coming into the United States is hardly going to change our culture. In the early 20th century, there was a large influx of immigrants into this country. Do their descendants still speak Italian, Russian, Polish, Greek, and other languages, and follow only the customs of their ancestors? Did they overwhelm the cities and turn them all into foreign enclaves? They all assimilated into our country, and the changes they brought only enhanced our culture, not supplanted it.

  No matter how you try to disguise it, the major theme here is one of white superiority. If your next door neighbor was exactly like you in every way, culturally, linguistically, IQ, finances, morals, etc. and was black or brown, you'd consider him your inferior, plain and simple.

  Get over it, or the rest of your life will be full of anger and hate, because we ain't going back to the good old days, and you might as well get used to it.

  rights seem to be everywhere nowadays.

  say hello to someone in the wrong way and you've violated 101 of their human rights.

  people imagine they have the right to all sorts of things - food, healthcare, housing, internet ... so many things are labelled basic rights and then you get onto their human rights - a favourite of the do-nothing bodies such as the un to declare.

  You are correct, but the naysayers here have convinced themselves that most of Scandinavia is headed toward certain doom, based on their research using only right wing, libertarian, free market, and capitalist websites.
