Where would you get married?

the thought of getting married at the kh was very depressing.

i always thought what a bore it would be, i mean afterall its a very special day in your life why do it at such a boring place?

i always thought about going to an exotic location for mine.. what about you?

I got married in a Kingdom Hall, It was boring. I really just wanted to go to Vegas and get married. Big Weddings are too much stress.

Can we talk about something deep?

the other night my mom called me to just talk.

my mother is a jehovah's witness still, so it is not unusual for that to be obvious in the conversation.

now i love my mom very much, and enjoy any time i can spend talking to her.

Reading this made me cry. I have been doing alot of thinking on this subject lately. I used to call my grandmother everyday and talk to her. It seems like I only call her once or twice a month now and don't really have anything to say. My Mother and I have never had a great relationship that is no secret but it seems it is worse lately. There is just nothing to say. Everytime you say something to them it is just beaten down by there religion. My grandmother was asking me the other day why I am not having childern yet and I told her I want to fulfill my carrer goals first. I want to be able to save enough money to put them through college. Well that didn't go over so well. She knows when I have kids I will be a Witness again and school and education don't matter because the end is almost here. It became a discussion where she just started downing my views on life. I saw then this is why I don't call or stop over. I am really tired of walking on eggshells and not being able to be myself and talk about what is important to me. I just have to listen to them and take it about how I am going to die at armagedon. Between my Mom and Grandma I have heard a million times I will not make it through armagedon and even though they will be sad they will have to live with my choice. I am just glad they are not God and they do not get to judge people. I know I am rambling now but this post just really struck a cord with me. I have been pondering over this all week. Thank you for posting this thread.

How was your first Christmas?

i've been doing a lot of thinking about christmas with it coming up so quickly.

its a little overwhelming rethinking your whole belief system.

how many of you celebrate?

I never have really all out celebrated christmas. I buy gifts for work mates and my husband but my family comes over way to often in order to have a tree and do the traditional christmas thing. If I ever decide to have children I will have to move out of state so they can do all the holidays. I am the type of person that would want to go all out or not all.

Even though I do love the smell of lotions and bubble bath they do not like me. I am very allergic so please do not send to me. It is such a bummer I always buy them for everyone but I cannot use it.

I cannot wait to see who we got.

this is a request for any out there that may want to write letters or send cards , good ol fashion pen pals.

i have some pictures of some i have taken of those i met at the dallas apostofest and would love to send you a copy.

i just still like to write on paper, a nice little letter now and then, maybe send some family photos too.. i get a thrill getting letters too.......hint hint..... i know postage is high now days, but once in awhile it is nice to get a personal letter or card in the mailbox.
