Have Your Pets Spayed - Please!

this isn't about "controlling the pet population", as bob barker would say.. it's about saving your female cat or dog's life.

we learned the hard ($$$$) way, in the past 24 hours.. if an unspayed cat or dog is not being bred, chances are fairly high that following a period of estrus (heat), bacteria can find their way into your pet's uterus via the open-during-estrus cervix, and produce an infection.

this infection of the uterus is called pyometra, and it's a silent killer of both cats and dogs, because very often the pet exhibits no symptoms, particularly if the cervix remains closed at the end of estrus while the bacteria breed and multiply internally.

I always spay my girls at 6 months this way the personality change isn't that noticable and you get them before they go into heat. I also never let them outside til they are spayed. I always think it is so sad to see all the cats at the animal shelter that need homes. I wish I could help them all.

most of us are imperfect.... and so even though controled by the wtbs to a great degree....none of us could have been perfect at even being brain washed .

I never gave up my freedom as a woman to think for myself, the occasional curse word, going on dates alone with no chaperone, R rated movies, Rap Music & multiple ear piercings.

Today I received my first birthday present EVER

and it was really neat!

it felt a little strange, though.

technically, i guess this isn't my first birthday present because big tex left me a dozen roses on my car the first year we met, on the eve of my birthday (with a note that read "to my favorite middle-aged pioneer" - i married him anyway).

19th Wedding Anniversary!

on this day, 19 years ago, my lovely wife and i were married at assumption catholic church in spokane, washington, usa.. she put up with me, when a month later i got involved with 'hovahs.

she stuck with me for the next ten years through my 'hovahness.

her family, my family, accepted me back without question when i dumped the wts, and shed the fake, thin veneer of being a 'hovah.

yes your old pal bendrr has gone and done it this time!

i've committed myself to hosting christmas day at my place and that includes cooking a christmas dinner for at least 11 people.. i already planned on my "adopted" family coming over which would be no big deal, just snacks and a few beers.

but this year i spent thanksgiving with my older brother and his family.

Spinach or Sasauge Manacoti. Rice balls are really good too (family recipe, always a hit), Eggplant or Chicken Parm. I am sure I can think of more later. I will post my family sauce recipe later it is so good.
