Would You, Could You, Marry Your Wife Again?
by Englishman ina couple of years back, 2 friends of ours decided that they would like to have their marriage vows renewed in our local church.
the main reason behind this was that they had married abroad some years back, and they thought that a sort of "second wedding" would be a nice thing for the mums and dads who had missed out on the original.
it was fine, very enjoyable.. hmm, i got to thinking, her ladyship and i did not marry in church, but settled for a registry office bash because of parental jw pressure, and also, because i had been married before it was, back then, very difficult to obtain a church wedding if one had been divorced.

I personally would love to go to Vegas and re-new my vows. The reason for this though is because I was forced into having a big huge witness wedding and did not get to have it done the way I wanted. I wanted to go to Vegas and get married just the two of us. I regret having a wedding and would never do that again.

Being a JW has made me bitter
by mamashel inover the last year after leaving the organization, i have done much research and read many books on the topic of jw's.
i have found peace in the fact that i truely believe that it is a false religion and that i want nothing to do with it ever again.
my problem is that i have been through, like most of you alot of emotions such as fear, anger, stupidity, (that i could allow myself to get involved so deeply in something), and many other feelings too.

Can You Really Have The "Christmas Spirit&...
by minimus inif you've ever been a witness, is it possible to experience the true "christmas spirit"?edited by - minimus on 15 december 2002 8:29:2.

The first Christmas I was out I could not get into the spirit of it (We had only been out 3 months). The second and third christmas I was out I got more into the spirit I bought gifts for people still no tree or anything and RT refused to exchange Christmas gifts, (He told me I don't celebrate Christmas) . This year our fourth Christmas we have a tree and have the spirit in full swing and will be exchanging gifts with each other. I think it takes time and some people get the spirit and others don't. Its hard to jump right in when you have been told your whole life how evil Christmas is.
Lilacs-I would always say You too to the people at the door. I mainly worked with my little brother or sister in service so no one knew but I felt bad if I started preaching to them on how bad their holiday was.

When You Were Engaged, Did You Do It???
by minimus inmost of the people that i know of that got married in a kingdom hall never admitted to "loose conduct" or "fornication" until sometime after their consciences bothered them.
some never had a conscience issue , but they did tell their friends , who, in turn, told others that they really weren't "qualified" to get married in the hall.
do you think that most jw couples "fool around" before they get married?

Last night my husband and I went shopping to give some toys to the local toy drive. I have donated either toys, food, or blankets during the holiday season since I left being a Dub. I have always had the desire to give to charties and people in need since I was young. I remember asking my mother around christmas time (when i was little) if we could give to the food or toy drive since those children need things and I remember her saying that Christmas was pagan and we are not to encourge that. Our charity work is the ministry. I accepted that then. But what I find interesting is that my family never gave any other time of year either and they didn't give to the poor people in the hall either. I was wondering if your family was the same way? If they felt their ministry was a good enough way to give?
Another thing I wonder is how many poor witnesses take from the charities during this time of year and yet will tell people how pagan the holiday is?

Write down everything you eat and drink that way you are aware of what you are taking in. Sometimes you don't realize what you have eaten til you see it on paper.
