top ten signs you're a fundamentalist christian.
1 - you vigorously deny the existence of thousands of gods claimed by other religions, but feel outraged when someone denies the existence of yours.. .
2 - you feel insulted and "dehumanized" when scientists say that people evolved from other life forms, but you have no problem with the biblical claim that we were created from dirt.. .
via the brooklyn heights blog, a former jehovahs witness, now a convert to orthodox catholicism, recounts his days as a bethelite in the witnesses' brooklyn heights headquarters, in a series of recent blog posts.

i believe current count is 9 gb, so that makes 6 out of 9 for it to be so?.
how about two-thirds when all 10,800 or so are given a say?.
Thanks Dozy. I haven't read that info for probably 8 years. Reading it the first time was so eyeopening. This time it really brought on feelings of anger. The nerve of that group is beyond what I can tolerate.
i enjoyed this essay by psychologist valerie tarico.
the born again experience.
i prayed harder and just then i felt like everything i was saying was being sucked into a vacuum.
Exjw2814,
A scary thing huh? I guess I disagree. I've been an atheist for a lot longer than you say you were, but as one I never felt the need to not discuss the bible or god. In fact, the more I do discuss it the more confident I am that the bible god does not exist. BTW, I do pray, to Clint Eastwood, gotta say the results aren't too bad.

It just hit me that I had this same feeling of euphoria and peace comeover me when after much investigation, I came to the realization that the bible god I once "worshipped" does not exist. Wonder what term I should use to describe my experience.
i enjoyed this 1954 essay by joseph lewis.
i was previously unaware that so many medical advancements were opposed by the clergy.
here's a small quote from the essay:.

Dozy or anyone else, can you direct me to a chapter where the alternative service thing was talked about?
Thanks
this is one of the most important concepts you could ever grasp.
unfortunately humans do not naturally understand this idea, so we need to throw in a bit of simple math to help us understand.. below is a series of videos that will help you understand.
yes, these are extraordinarily boring, but you will be a much better person for watching them.. .
Thanks for posting this Else, I'm glad I now know about this.
