Wasn't there a poster that claimed sometime in early 2010 for the end, or was it 2009 (times goes by so fast)? I looked but can't find it now.

The Master spoke to me this morning. . .
by Inkie inthis morning as i lay lying in bed i was listening to music on the radio station on my headset.
when i do this, i do this so as not to disturb the wife while she is sleeping.
only this morning, she had already risen and was downstairs getting ready to go to work and just about to walk out the door.

Well Tec, I'm sure you'll be able to come up with something, but I think you should stick with a comment you made earlier (highlighted in red):
Perhaps the master (Christ and God) are capable of doing both (helping big and little things), but limited by the people engaging in those big/little things, who refuse to 'hear'.
I don't know.
I think one of the biggest things the WTS took from me is my belief in the power of prayer. Not the benefit of prayer - to oneself - but the power of receiving something asked for in prayer. (which, considering all the things I have received after asking, is pretty bad)

And what the hell is Snowbird doing here, just when my blood pressure was getting down to normal.

Believers, is this really the way it works?

How is the dead lady going to forgive him? What makes you think she wants to? If I was in her shoes I surely wouldn't. I find it interesting that believers can take statements made in the bible and extrapolate them to the extreme to make them fit what they want to believe. Why don't you do this with the rapist's words? How do you know he didn't repent?
And it seems to be real easy to talk about forgiving someone when you are not the one that has been murdered. Of course statistics are impossible in this situation, but do you really think if it was possible to poll people who were murdered that any of them would forgive? I seriously doubt it.
I personally think this is a simple cartoon that emphasizes the ridiculousness of "accepting christ". An eye for an eye makes much more sense.

Peacedog, that's an excellent point about removing the vowels from their own personal name.

After coming to the conclusion such a being does not exist, to be honest I never felt the need to talk to him. I have however had to deal with the reality of death that has confronted me. After losing my parents 4 years ago, tears still come easily and sometimes I wonder if living in the fantasy world I used to live in would have made my situation different. I have no way of knowing at this point. But still, I have never felt the need to speak to god.

IF THE BIBLE is so darned great---why don't people JUST read IT?
by Terry inworking in a bookstore i notice the thousands and thousands of books "explaining" what the bible really "means.".
those are what people read.. when people say they read the bible they are really saying they "try".
but, it is like reading chinese.. so, what they end up doing is reading opinions.. opinions, conjectures, hypothesis, fantasy, imaginative ruminations, fanciful concoctions......other people's ideas presented as documentary fact.. .

Oracle, I really relate to your comments.
It struck me reading this thread that of all the books I have read in my life I can't think of any I felt the need to keep reading over and over again. I read C of C and it changed my life more than anything I have ever read, but I never felt the need to read it over and over again. I grew up with the idea that reading the bible every day was necessary if you wanted to live forever. Seems like lots of people believe variations of that idea besides JW's. Makes no sense to me now.
