I say be respectful, dress appropriately, just sit and listen and don't participate other than standing up when required. I have done it several times. I found that I never really listened in all the years I went, and now when I go and actually listen it's amazing what I hear.

I'm going to the Kindom Hall to please my parents
by Joshnaz inmy parents are visting from florida and i agreed to take them to the kingdom hall for a meeting, but i'm just doing to make them feel comfortable while they are here.
i told them i'll be sitting in the back with jeans and sneakers playing with my i phone.
i made shure they didn't get any wrong impressions about me returning to the kingdom hall.

I was never DF'ed, I wasn't abused, I never lost a loved one to the ban on blood
by OnTheWayOut instrange title, huh?.
the point is that i wasn't "burned" in some incredible way by wts and i don't carry a huge chip on my shoulder from some incredible injustice from wts or the local elders.. i say this because some people have constantly accused me of being really screwed over by my experience because of my comments on others' threads.
i explained myself there for my reasons, but wanted to repeat what those reasons are here in my own thread.. i explained on some post somewhere that i had felt that i experienced "divine intervention" in my life at one time and that same intervention ended my suicide attempt.

Great thread OTWO!
I especially enjoyed Just n from bethel's comments about the jesus pushers. It continues to bother me that they will never ever admit they could be wrong.

I cannot believe what you believers have posted on this thread. And you Snowbird, after what you have posted I have to ask what happened to your swan song? You should have carried it out. Your thinking is dangerous and needs to be suppressed.

Do you ENJOY these endless theism/atheism - faith/reason - creation/evolution debates?
by nicolaou in.
sure i get frustrated when i have to explain for the bajillionth time just why atheism is not a belief or why it is possible to know some things with 100% certainty but despite all the exasperations i still count it as one of the rewards of freeing my mind and exiting the wt that i can argue so endlessly and freely.. even if some of you do get on my tits sometimes .

Absolutely, they are my favorite type of discussion on JWN. Sometime I wonder why. I think it might be because deep down it's hard to accept that my parents and all the people I grew up with believed and that possibly I am wrong in not believing. The more I read these discussion the more I become convinced I am on the right.

For Tammy (Tec) - scrutinizing 'revealed' scriptural understanding
by SweetBabyCheezits incontinuing darth's thread i unintentionally hijacked (sorry, again).... .
tec: um... just in case some of that was directed at me (and if not, i apologize),.
tammy, my comment wasn't directed specifically at you but, in general, at anyone who hastily buys into claims of 'revealed' scriptural understanding without scrutinizing them as carefully as we would wt doctrine.

Tammy,
It seems to me that one can take christ out of the equation and nothing would change. It appears you have a passion for what is said about him and what he taught, and you read about it in the bible and like what you hear, but really why does he even have to exist for you to have that passion? Just asking...

Letter from an anointed reader who DA'd after 33 years
by Dogpatch indear randy, early this year i requested disassociation from the org and have been meaning to publish some sort of statement.
i was a member for over 33 years and partook of the emblems.
being an older widow it took some deliberation and guts to make the move but am currently very happy with the change.

This use of Jaheshua by 3 people on this thread, where did you come by that name. Like I said earlier, I googled it and next to nothing came up. Are we dealing with 3 Jaheshua followers here? How many more are there? There sure doesn't seem to be any more except the ones posting it here.

I was hoping someone would comment on Witness My Fury's post:
The statement that unless it involved LOVE the words of the LORD to you would be false is incorrect. There's plenty of killing and ethnic cleansing going on in the OT directly quoted from the LORD, to go killing men women, children and even their animals.
So you're saying that Moses and Abraham etc should have listened to their conscience instead of the LORD? The fluffy fuzzy cuddly NT LORD was there then too you know when all that killing was going on egging them on. ......So when he says KILL in YOUR ear....you'd better bloody well do it OK?
Seems to me Abraham's situation is totally getting ignored by you voice hearers.

To new non-believers to JWN (they need guidance too)
by cyberjesus ini wanted to make a few comments to those of you that have recently begun to question or have already left the wt and made their way onto this site.
this site is a great resource to learn how others are coping with leaving the organization and moving on into a fulfilling life.. i wanted to write this post because i think reading something like this would've been helpful to me to understand where a lot of people that comment on this site are coming from.

Good job Cyber J
There was an informal survey done on here once, don't know if I could find it now, but it indicated that the large majority of people born into the JW religion will most like become non beleivers when they figure out they were mislead. Those that hop into some other belief system were already in one when they left it to become a JW.
I think those statistics speak volumes.
