Thanks for the post. I hadn't really thought about it like this before, but I'm convinced it's true that reality only exists in your own head. Even as a JW I never had any of the "demon" experiences that were so popular. Now that I have put that and all the other superstitious beliefs behind, if I had an experiences like you had, I would look for an explanation other than something supernatural, as you did.

Reality exists in your brain
by Nickolas ini've just posted the following in another thread whose subject is supernatural experience, but it may deserve its own thread so i'll repost it here.
i don't believe in the supernatural but i do believe that people experience unexplained things.
where i differ from some people is that i perceive the unexplained things exist only in their brains and not in the physical world around them.. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------.

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony
by Perry ina dear member of my congregation gives his testimony from shite muslim to christian.
emery told me once that his father told him that the only reason he's still alive is because of the laws of the u.s. otherwise he'd be required to kill him.. kinda puts puts jw shunning in a "new light"..... somebody always has it worse.
kinda lenghty but well worth it.

Perry, thank you for answering my question.
Lovelylil,
If you believe the Bible is just a book of fairy tales, and that is your perogative to do so, then you have nothing to worry about anyway. So why would you care if the Bible teaches people go to hell?
Thanks for changing your use of the word "fact". Ignoring the logical fallacy above, I care because my wife believes the bible to be god's word and will give her life up for what she thinks it says. I continue to have a hard time with believers who make statements and claim them as fact when they aren't, they are beliefs.

Perry, I specifically asked you where hell is. You are so sure about everything you must have an answer. As lovelylil said, there are many answers to that question, I already knew that. I would like to see yours.
Lovelylil, one of your posts above uses the word "fact" to describe god's discipline. Some of us need to live a reality based life and use facts to that end. What you descibed is not a fact, but a belief. It appears you accept many things and describe them as fact just because they are in the bible, and the bible alone. Many of us here have done in depth research and have come to the conclusion that the bible is just a book containing history and myth, and is, as I think you believe, above all else a book of faith. If so, I think you should quit using the word "fact" when speaking of things that are nothing more than beliefs or opinions which by definition are accepted without proof.

Perry,
It's a simple question that I haven't seen answered. If it's a real place it must have an identifiable location, right?

I stopped reading a few posts above this to ask what I have asked of Perry before. Where exactly is hell?

There is a family of wretched hillbilly's who come in at closing with giant trashbags filled with moldy, water damaged books and magazines that looks like they were pulled out of a blighted attic. The Big Momma has a loose fitting house dress that barely covers her enormous chesticles and she leans on the counter with pendulous grace watching whoever is doing the bookbuy. (We buy from the public, you see...) It takes forever to inspect this garbage, of course because there are hundreds of pieces involved! Her son is a giant of a boy like Baby Huey who is very gentle and polite in his overalls and hand-me-down shoes. Her husband carries a Folger's coffee can to spit chewing tobacco in while they all just stand there like statues staring!
Now that's funny right there, I don't care who you are.

JWs - The worlds most ardent supporters of the Death Penalty
by doubtful inanother take away from the recent special day assembly was how the speakers kept demeaning the whole concept of prisons as institutions for criminals.
according to the speaker, the justice system was a total failure, and prisons are an epic failure, because all they do is teach criminals even more about crime, and they all come out of prison worse than before.
(j-dubs love speaking in absolutes).

Does God speak to you? HOW?
by Quentin inan answer to this question is subjective to the individual an a posteriori experiene.
however, can there be an a priori experence, one that is objective, outside the bounds of personel experiene, or does it remain subjective?
god speaks to me, through many venus, except audible.

Oh yeah jokes on all us Christians. God won't spontaneously generate limbs for amputees so he does not exist. yep, that proves it!
In all seriousness though, Jesus healed many people and it was demonstrated in front of literally thousands of people, as recorded in the bible and YET, only a small amount of people believed in him.
So, do you seriously think IF God did regenerate limbs for people today, that athiests would fall to their knees and become Christians? Yeah, I doubt it. What they will do is find a "scientific" explanation as to why the limbs regrew, that is what they will do. God will not get credit for it at all just like he does not get proper credit for your life, the air you breath, the universe you live in, the earth you live on, and all the extrodinary living things on this earth. Because you all choose to give credit to the fictional Mother nature.
Or, even worse, you say "Nothing created Everything".
Give me a break! Sorry GOD does not jump thru your little "test" hoops to prove his existance to you. Lilly
How could anyone possibly argue with that?

Seems to me the word "speak" should not be used if a voice is not heard. What is being described here by many are nothing more than feelings.

Cagefighter,
Thanks for the info, no need to worry about hijacking since I think what we are talking about here is very much a part of what happened. Things sure are different in Texas than they are here. You've sparked my interest in the Texas law, I'm going to look into it.
