This whole thing strikes me as even worse hyposcrisy than the UN scandal. How has it been kept secret for so long? Seems to me though that the fine involved for not displaying the flag may not be the real issue. I always fall back on"follow the money" as regards WT decisions. I wonder what other issues regarding money may be involved.

10 Reasons you should never have a religion
by Batman89 ina great article i stumbled across this morning http://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/2008/05/10-reasons-you-should-never-have-a-religion/.
while consciously pursuing your spiritual development is commendable, joining an established religion such as christianity, islam, or hinduism is one of the worst ways to go about it.
in this article ill share 10 reasons why you must eventually abandon the baggage of organized religion if you wish to pursue conscious living in earnest.. since christianity is currently the worlds most popular religion, ill slant this article towards christianitys ubiquitous failings.

I was wondering about the quality of this picture. Was it captured off a video that might give it this look?

I was surprised to see Morgan Freeman involved in this movie. After seeing him as the host of "Through the wormhole" it doesn't see like something he would be involved in.
I too hate to see this myth perpetuated.

The Complete Scammer's Guide - by "Pastor" Russell (New Light!)
by Focus inmost of us are reasonably familiar with reports of scandalous goings-on of that old jellyfish lecher, the founder of the watchtower cult, the one and only charles taze russell.. but, are these stories true?.
this thread is going to be devoted to his allegedly scurrilous activities.
so, bookmark it, please, bro' focus is in possession of noo light, and we're going to explore russell like you've never seen him explored before.. we're approaching his 100th death anniversary, and for all i know this virtual exhumation may lead to a real one.

I feared with the passing of Farkel that an in depth expose' of WT history would be a thing of the past. Focus, it seems you have been absent for some years, and I wasn't familiar with you as I just missed the days of witnet and H2O and joined this site 9 months after you, but I am so glad you are back.

jw.org getting out of hand
by Gorbatchov init seems the watchtower staff have made a runaway train with the introduction of the mark jw.org.. the combination of using a gadget driven platform and the fact that the common jw is low educated and easely influenced.
by new occurrings in their religion makes the situation getting out of hand.. proof: gb members wearing jw.org buttons during their speech, gifts with jw.org are given away, umbrellas with the jw.org are available.
jw.org is more important then god, his son and the gospel.. it's the gadget and the jw.org mark that counts.. i am so happy my grandparents are not confronted with these idiots.. it's a runaway train heading to the end of the track.. gorby .

Your final WTF? Moment!
by restrangled init was a long time coming for me.....when i read about the extened generations, after being raised on1914 being the be all end all, and millions would never die....that was the end.
i was part of the 1975 fiasco, the 6 month only truth book studies, suffered through a disifellowshipping and their version of a rewind.
i finally am free and hope others can eventually look in instead of inside looking out!

When I was an MS, we were invited to a special meeting just for MS' at the assembly hall. Pass required to get in, made us feel real important. Sat there all day waiting to hear something I had never heard before, but it didn't happen. It was nothing more than another assembly day. Then at the end, another MS, who appeared to be a brown-noser who someone was promoting, got up and read a thank you letter to the GB, praising them for all this fine spiritual food. It went on and on, and I immediately wondered who wrote that letter. At first I thought the brown noser did, but there was no time. I asked around, and no one could give me an answer. I came to the conclusion it was written by the GB praising themselves.
Not too long after that, at a CA, the DO said that if a recommendation for an appointment was sent to NY don't think that Holy Spirit will reject it.
That was the beginning of the end, but finding out about 607, reading C of C and then seeing the UN fiasco develop finished me off.

We love to be dazzled by the bullshit: The Magic of the Watch Tower Society
by Terry inthere is an implicit pact between the magician and the audience.. .
i should now like to discuss this pact and use the bond between performer and audience as the premise of something else i will reveal at the end.. .

Concerning your rule of thumb number 5, it's a little difficult to do that when a person thinks they are going to live forever in a paradise and what you have to offer is that this life is all there is.

Great campagne in Portugal (ex-JW)
by TJ Curioso ini like to tell you what we've been doing these past few days here in portugal (ex-jw).
we create a brochure and printing, so we can send to the maximum of congregations in portugal.
some individuals were also covered in this campaign.. the title of the pamphlet is: "when will the kingdom arrive?".

This is probably the best I've seen for sharing that info. I think the average JW would think it was something from mother and would get to the next to last paragraph before the apostate buzzer went off. I had an amusing thought, at least to me, about there being no references for the info following the dates. I think if there were references, it would set off the alarm right away. Since they are very used to not having info referenced, they may gobble it right up. I would hope that all the info is 100% correct. If there is one word misplaced the whole thing becomes a lie.
Someone should print up a stack of these and secretly slip them into the trolley cart.
Thanks for all the work and for starting this thread.

JW's have lots of urban legends, and I want to make sure an ex-JW one doesn't get started here. Eric, I guess you've forgotten that the "Witness" at the funeral who came up and said "Hi Ray" was me. I already knew you were coming with Greybeard and when you sat down near the front with your shaved head and goatee and then were standing by Greybeard afterwards, I thought it novel to address you as Ray.
Not a big deal, but hopefully you can see my intentions in correcting this. This video was a very good experience on it's own. It does make one wonder how someone can know all those facts and still be involved.
