Letter from mom... A memorial tract!
by Fleshybirdfodder ini'm now part of an elite club of memorial invitees.... my mother mailed each of her satanic children without any hope for the future a one page tract reminding us of this important date.
no accompanying letter, no "how are you?
" nothing but the rhetoric filled tract re-explaining how we can all benefit from this "important occasion".. my one sister was a pioneer and a missionary, my other sister was a pioneer.

"Did not defile themselves with women"
by Legolas inso the 144000, wouldn't you say then are all men?.
i can't remember what crap excuse they gave for that one to get out of it not only being men....but all the writer had to say was 'they were virgins' if it was both sexes.. what do you think?.

Don't you know, half of the verse (144,000) is literal and the other half (not defile themselves with women) is figurative.
That is why we need god's spirit directed organization to sort it all out for us.

Ban on Jeans , T-Shirts & Shorts after the Convention
by dozy inapr km insert.
"even during leisure time , such as when going out to eat after the programme , we should dress as befits ministers... and should not wear such clothing as jeans , shorts or t-shirts.
what a witness this will give to the community.".

I was at a quick build once and a worker had a t-shirt with a nike emblem on it. They told him he would have to go home and change his shirt or put a piece of duct tape over it.
He looked like a goof with the duct tape on his shirt all day.
I would have went home and not come back!

DirectBuy - anyone here a member?
by Stealth inanyone here have any experiences with the company directbuy?
we are planning to remodel our kitchen, bathroom and replace windows & siding in our house, so we feel like we can bet back the membership fee over time.
some of their sales tactics does raise some red flags like you must join the day of your visit or you will never be offered a membership again, ever.

Cost is about $4K for the first two years then $200 per year to renew for the next 8. This averages out to $560 per year.
I find it interesting that most people who claim it is a rip-off are not members. Most of the coments by members in the blogs are positive.
If you never make any large purchases it is probably not worth it, however if you are building a home or a major remodel, buying furnature, jewlery or any high markup items, it can pay off big time.
This is why I would like to hear from anyone who are actual members.

What is the deal with Moses? A rant on absurdity in the Bible.
by Morocco inthe other day i was reading about moses and i came to the very popular part of the golden calf.
but now, with a little maturity and freedom from the clutches of witness thought i can see some terrible problems with the bible.
in the beginning of exodus 32 god is talking to moses and sees that the israelites have made a calf out of gold and they are using it as their god.

I still think the biggest "sin" was not the counting itself, but not offering sacrifices when the census was takn as God had told Moses.
So god had to kill 70,000 humans in order to teach king David a lesson on killing some animals before doing the counting? Okay, that works well with the god is a sadistic bastard theory.
Well, the most obvious reason that God didn't choose to have David be persecuted by his enemies was stated by David himself.
First god did not choose, he gave David a choice. Why would god give David a choice if he was not prepared to go through with? It was David who choose to have 70,000 humans killed in order to save his own hide.
He asked not to fall on the hands of humans because they wouldn't be as merciful as God is.
Sure, killing 70,000 of his own people, that may beat Sadam's record, real merciful he his alright.
So, if David were to have been persecuted by his enemies as his punishment, then he could've died. And what do you think would've happened if David had died?
The same thing that would have happened if Abraham would have went through and killed his only seed Isaac, but god stopped him, just as he could have saved David after his 3 month run.
God's promise of a Messiah wouldn't have been fulfilled in him.
Yes it could have, it said that he would be on the run from his enimies, god could have saved him just like Isaac and the promise would still be fullfilled. Sound like David was lacking in faith that god would protect him, or he was a pussy.

What do women REALLY want?
by Abandoned inok, i've heard it all: sincerity, honesty, security, money, love, romance, flowers, poems, promises, and more.
but, in my arguably limited experience, i've been shot down while doing all of these (at differnt times obviously).
so, what do women really want?

I think people get too caught up in looking for "the One", or "Mr/Ms Right", believing that they've only got the one big stab at "forever after".
I married Mrs Right. I just didn't know at the time that her first name was Always!

Here is another absurdity.... 2 Samuel chapter 24.
David takes a census and pisses god off.
David takes blame and asks god for forgiveness, god give David 3 choices.
1. Seven years of famine.
2. Three months of your fleeing before your adversaries, with them pursuing you, or
3. Three days of petilence in the land.
Options 1 & 3 many people will die. Option 2 (maybe) he might die.
So what does David choose???? Option 3 and 70,000 people were killed because of his sin.
David was a pussy or god was one sadistic bastard to kill 70K people for the sin of one. And the sin? Counting!

I think the 144,000 is a symbolic number. Why would it be literal if the rest of the book of Revelation is symbolic?
Exactly! If the number is not symbolic, then the 144,000 on earth should not be married, because in the same scripture it says the 144,000 would not defile themselves with women. So the JWs use 1/2 of the verse as literal and the other half as symbolic. Talk about picking and choosing.

Percentage of men who don't wash hands after pooing

And remember that these gross people open the door using the same handle that you will when you leave. The poo is not just in the guys hair, it is on the handle that you are going to touch next! That is what grosses me out the most! Here are my tips on how to leave the rest room germ free.
1. Use a paper towel when you open the door. Throw it away on your way out if the can is close, or throw it away in another can after you leave.
2. Open the door using the hardware that closes the door. You must be tall enough to reach it.
3. Wait for someone else to enter and then leave.
