If Freddie was still alive, he probably would be all over the 2012 date. A good way to get new recruits. It worked great in 1975.

Good News to Make You Happified
by Farkel inhappified is a real watchtower word(tm), by the way!.
if you want to give the wts credit for anything, then at least give them credit for their remarkably simple solution to every ill suffered by mankind.. it is a "one size fits all" solution and might be part of the appeal the wts has attracting people who have a hard time with reason and common sense.. they won't specifically tell you what that solution is, though.
if they did, they would even get less converts than they get now, and currently they ain't gettin' many.

Jehovah's Witnesses - No Different From the World
by metatron inwhat kind of problems characterize today's world?
first, hateful division - in which anyone who doesn't belong to your particular nation/tribe/sect/gender preference/sub-culture is denigrated and somehow, inferior to you.. next, how about deception?
is that rife in the world today?.

Many good peoplewho joined the cult of Jim Jones were addicted to drugs before becoming a christain.
So this proves that in some cases joining a cult can help one get off drugs. It's all in how you spin it.
Of course the watchtower will spin it with those who joined Jim jones were "christains" not christains.
The more that I am away for the WT religion, the more I realise that it is less christain then most others who claim to be christain. Who would Jesus disfellowhip?

Yes, I believe it is, but they make up for their misery by dressing up in their best polyester suits.

Ex-Biopure exec to plead guilty to faking cancer
03/11/2009
By DENISE LAVOIE / Associated Press
A former executive of Biopure Corp. is expected to plead guilty Wednesday to an obstruction of justice charge for pretending he had terminal cancer to dodge a federal lawsuit filed by securities regulators.
Howard Richman, a former vice president at Biopure, originally pleaded not guilty to the charge in October, but court documents indicated he planned to change the plea. His lawyer, Ian Gold, did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission sued the Cambridge-based Biopure, Richman and three other executives in 2005. It alleged the drug developer had misled investors over the prospects of winning approval for a synthetic blood product called Hemopure.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration had rejected clinical trials because of safety concerns with Hemopure, a blood substitute made from cow hemoglobin.
In October 2006, Richman's lawyers told the judge their client was gravely ill from colon cancer and had less than a 15 percent chance of survival. Richman allegedly produced a forged doctor's note that said he was being treated with surgery and chemotherapy.
In July 2007, U.S. District Judge Patti Saris approved Richman's request to postpone a final judgment in the case, effectively ending the lawsuit against him.
The case was reopened in December 2007. Richman, of Pearland, Texas, was indicted on the obstruction charge nine months later.
Prosecutors accused him of fabricating the terminal illness in an attempt to wriggle out of the lawsuit and avoid paying a large civil fine sought by the SEC during settlement negotiations.
In August 2008, Richman reached a settlement with the SEC that required him to pay a $150,000 fine and barred him from serving as an officer or director of any public company.
Richman faces up to 10 years in prison on the obstruction charge.

The best prank to pull off at a Kindum Hell
by Iwonder17 inso i'm sitting there tonight cuz my wife makes me go ( for now ) and i had a great idea.
you know how some times they have those boring slide shows ?
wouldn't it be incredible to get some glow in the dark paint and write on the walls some funny messages so that once they turn the lights out, everyone would see the messages.. i'm 10000% sure they would cancel the slide show and go right into the wt study.

You could shit in their mail box!.... Seriously, it is bad ideas like this that give the JW community a leg to stand on when they are critical of X-JWs.

It is also odd that the police alerady interviewed the elder 3 times. If he was going to claim clergy privilage why now?
Or is it because, now he has to take an oath to tell the truth? Think about it!

It looks like the Elders may have to testify in the case against Jarka. This won't help his case, Elder Jose Cespedes was at the Jarka house just hours before the murder.
Should the elder have to testify or should he be protected by clergy privilege. Is what they talked about just hours before the murder with this elder relevent to the Murder? I think it could be. I hope the Judge does also.

Greetings JWD community, It has been quite some time since I have checked in hear. I guess that is a sign that I have deprogrammed from my 40 years in the org and loving life like never before.
Anyway, I get a call from an active JW family member today who tells me there is new light in the Feb 15 WT on the generaton teaching. I looked back through a few pages of post titles and did not see anything related to this topic. He did not have his WT yet, so could not give me any details on this *aledged* change. Now I am sceptical, because I know this kind of news breaks *here* before anyone getting it on the inside.
Anyone hear anything about this or have access to the Feb WT?
Best Regards,
John
